Just because it is 1kb doesnt mean its not a virus, people can already spoof e-mail and ip addresses without any knowledge of hacking i KNOW you can do the same for e-mails. Just be careful.

There are trojans that are under a kilobyte that essentially download a larger trojan. You just gotta get the little one onto someones comp, and they unknowingly download the larger one.

I always thought those where just ways for e-mail spammers to tell if your address is active. Like a Bot randomly generated your address sends a e-mail and if it doesn't bounce back it must be a real addy. But that is just what I thought I have no real idea.

i get an average of 16 spam msgs a day in my Hotmail. my Yahoo is a different story...every time i check it, i have literaly over 1000 spam emails. dont believe me? get me a host and i will upload a picture :\

I never used to get spam for like 5 years. Now the only reason I get spam is because I let my computer illiterate sister use my e-mail addy cause she wanted to order something online. They needed an e-mail address to confirm something. She started to surf the webbernet for other things and she got a pop up that "She won $10,000!" I wasn't in the room but she ended up signing me up for a ton of shit.

I have a personal domain (dad has a website) and I keep on getting these fucking Brazilian e-mails. Two out of three have a trick link that sends you to an .exe file download. Spanish is close to Portuguese, so I can get the general idea of what each one is about. I've recieved every OFERTA in the book, from "Donate to save the children," "NAO PAGUE AR POR AGUA! (Never pay anything for water?)", "CARTAO VIRTUAL (Virtual Card)", Links to free pictures (that link to .exes) and porn.
