Try this:

http://206.169.220.41/theBORG/9of12/files/1_planetside/Article.jpg

Using this I have eliminated most lag and FPS problems. My average stats before was 70-90 FPS in sanc, 20-30 FPS in big battles, 5.0% packet loss and 70 ping. Now I get 160-200 FPS in sanc, 60-80 FPS in big battles, 0.0% packet loss and 30-50 ping. And i get no more of that anoying projectile lag. Also faster cont load times, and mo more mouse lag! Hope this helps you! By the way, I run on Win XP pro.

Hmmm...interesting.

I've brought it to Sporkfire's attention and asked him to check and see if this works.

I'll let you know if he responds.

Note that this will not work for everyone. It will work for most though.

<SporkfirePS> We had tried that in the past and can't find an explanation for why it would improve performance. It points to an invalid program, so the entry should just be ignored.

My only question is where do I find this? (Yes I am an idiot when it comes to shit like this)

I know this is probably a n00b question but what is "regedit" ?

<SporkfirePS> We had tried that in the past and can't find an explanation for why it would improve performance. It points to an invalid program, so the entry should just be ignored. I've heard a few people in my outfit talk about this too. I thought they were just F'in around now that someone else says it works I'm willing to try it (If I can figure it out :ugh: )

I don't want to get my hopes up for a magic bullet, but I'm willing to try this.

Edit: Inconclusive.

Regedit is registry edit. If you dont know what it is then dont mess with it. This is not something I would recomend you do if you dont have experience in the registry.

wasn't there a thread about people not getting credit for their work? if it wasn't you that made this, its common courtesty to post the name of there person who made that and where you got it from

Maby he actually did the work a second time completly unaware of the original?

BTW this was the fix for a mem leak last october.

Also i have a theory that its loading PS twice into the same ammount of ram whitch is why most people with a gig+ of ram didnt get much of a performance boost. Well I didnt anyhow.

It's not in most people's registry. This is mad old anyway and doesn't apply to current times. It was apparently an old registry key from like last October. So I wouldn't expect to see it in the registry now-a-days. As I recall, only a handfull of people had the key even back then.

Dude, I never siad I did it, I dont know who did it. All I know is it works. BTW I have a gig of ram and it improved it dramaticly. And I even siad it wont work for some so dont bitch if it don't. Its not my fault, its no ones fault. I suspect that it was running some program that didnt exist and somehow it didnt get quite removed by the patcher because it could have been a more critical item back when it was used. Some people would have had the patcher work corectly and disable the program when they did it so it might not have an effect for some.

By the looks of things the official forum date shows it as the 18th of January. I guess if it points to a program that isn't used you might as well remove it for tidyness, and if it works then you've lost nothing and gained performance.

Madcat, I'm not having a go or anything but if you don't quote your sources then people assume that you are saying that you did it. If you don't know who did it, then you must say so in the original post to avoid this confusion.
