As a lot of you guys know, there's been a lot of chatter about a PSU Meet-Up. Hamma mentioned it a week or two ago, where we'd all get together and have a massive PSU LAN party, eat tons of pizza, and hang out together.
I'm not saying that Hamma's agreed to go ahead with this idea at all, I'm not in any position of authority on the subject here either, but I was just wondering what the interest was for this sort of thing.
The CDL Rally is from September 17th to the 19th, 2004, and I thought it'd be cool if PSU tagged along. So far I've found hotel rooms in Orlando from $60/night up to $160/night. I know where the CDL lads will be staying and we could even stay there.
So, both for the sake of letting Hamma know how much serious interest there is in this thing, and also for planning purposes, how many of you could SERIOUSLY make the trip to Orlando for this?
(Under 18's, talk to your parents before you show interest, 'cause I'd like to know a serious number of people who'd occupy hotel space! Let's not do anything illegal! Parents can come too... but they can't LAN with us unless they're cool)

Yes. I'll just ask my dad to take me to Orlando, during school, to play 'games' with a bunch of people he doesn't know.
However, he does know how to LAN. But he only plays Day of Defeat...but he does it well. Don't let him near that MP44.

I think this should be by invitation only. It wouldnt be too great if the information was displayed publically.

What fun would a PSU Meet-Up be if only a select few members were there?

I would... but 17th to 19th... is that a weekend? I can't go during a week cause of school...

I say whoever wants to, and can, should come - the more, the merrier, eh!

Actually now tha I think about it those dates would probably be the best for me... just cause its after summer and by that time my AP class papers will be done... if it were during summer I would get the "Do your schoolwork" lecture...

Damn, you are more commited then I am :p
Hrmm, from CA to FL? c'mon, get closer than that.

Well if this was going to happen there would need to be at LEAST 20 people who can confirm for solid that they are going. It would also take place after the CDL rally, because that is something I personally would like to have just with my team.
Either way if there is solid interest its something we may go ahead with. There is also a good shot that SOE would help us out with such an event and maybe even send devs or other goodies :p

Come on guys, we can get at least 20 of us together and commit to this! We can change the date (well, we WILL change the date as to not conflict with CDL!) to whatever's easiest for people to get to.
Think of the potential for awesome!

September's a bit late. School would've started for some people by then. If it was July or August, more people could go.
Triggar

Well, let's see how many people could commit to it, and then we can figure out when's a good time for everyone. July/August would be sweet, because we're not in school, but whatever's best for everyone!

i move that we make friday an optional day, maybe schedule fun-but-unimportant stuff, for those who can't get the day off.
i like having it in orlando for convienience of CDL folks - or maybe just hamma & jenny. i suppose most of them can't just hang out all week.

Its not the airfare or school thats the problem now... its the mother, currently her opinion is "Thay are all whacos". And this isn't helped much by Dhark going ballistic insane on IRC or Thronebeast saying "We all sleep nekkkid"...

Spring Break 05 would be cool, except it shouldnt be the first week of it (2 1/2 weeks in spring break for me) because Im going to aruba with a bunch of friends. but yea, 17th- 19th works for me I guess.

I like the idea that we do it a week earlier/later than CDL - that way, if any of the CDL-ers want to spend a nice weeklong vacation in Orlando, they can catch the front end of the PSU meeting.
I love the idea of holding it to commerate the 2nd anniversary of PSU... it gives us more time to plan (and more time to plan means a sweeter meeting, theorhetically!).

well, we COULD move it to Texas :P because i live in New Mexico, i doubt my parents would let me fly over to Florida because we dont exactley have the money. if you move it to El Paso, i may be able to get my parents to drive over there. maybe even Austin or Marble Falls, because my grandparents live there.
EDIT: im not saying change everything for me - lol - some people live way over in CA and it would be nice if they didnt have to fly all the way across the entire country.
