That movie was fucking awesome. Every single woman in that was hot. EVERY SINGLE GODAMN ONE. There was this one old woman, Achille's mother, but besides that, they were ALL hot.
Oh yeah, and the battle scenes were good, too.

I thought it was a well rounded movie. All aspects of it were good but it didn't really excell at anything. As for the music they might as well just used the Gladiator Sound Track.

I definitely disapprove of the movie "Troy". To me, it was a 3-hour long battle scene. There was no backstory and very, very little plot.
What makes the story so interesting is the history - Athena and the golden apples, Achilles' being dipped in the river Styx to make him immortal, how Agamemnon and Achilles really died, et cetera. The movie overlooked all these things and instead chose to make the movie a battle, from the moment the movie started to the moment the movie ended.
I must've checked my watch at least 4 times.

I liked Troy. They kept it realistic. Frankly, I could careless about the Mythology bullshit. I had to read enough about it in school.

The mythology WAS the whole fucking story though! Why are people such sheep that they just take whatever is given to them.

i was disappointed they changed the story around, however i still enjoyed it.
if i hadnt known the real story i would have found the movie much more interesting.
i laughed at some of the stupidest camera shots ive seen in a while. zooming in close on a person's face for them to make one expression was extremely comical. the battle where they changed closeups according to the background music made me almost die from laughing so hard...

if i want romance, - i dunno. mostly, i don't - but i didn't want it from this movie.
i wanted a cool movie made from greek mythology.

If you want fantasy, go watch Lord of the Rings. This war actually took place and I doubt any of the "gods" decided to get involved while it did.

Newsflash: there is no evidence, aside from the books written about it by people born hundreds of years after it supposedly happened, that this war ever took place. In fact, some have speculated that if this war occurred, that it was not one that took place between the Achaeans and the Trojans, but rather between the Celts and the French. In any case, the movie was based on the book the Illiad, if you'd ever read the book, you'd know what Triggar, martyr and I were upset about.

When i was walking out of the theaters with my friends and everything I heard this kid say, "It was such a cheesy ending, I mean come on he got shot in the achilles tendent. What are the chances of that".
Another thing, Achilles and the story is one gay motherfucker. In the movie his cousin is the one that gets killed when everyone thinks he's achilles. How ever in reality its his gay lover. Alexander the Great was a gay motherfucker too.

Before tossing the flame accusations around, take a look at your first reply. I could care less if you liked the movie or not. We're all entitled to our own opinions.
They completely desecrated the book. If you've got an vivid mind, that book has about 752.7 times more blood, titties, and epic battles than the movie. Plus it doesn't have the horrifically stupid "Leprechaun leap stab".

 I hated that.
I have a bootleg Troy that my bro got for me in NY, pretty good, except it has the same picture quality of Ben Hur.

edit: on another note,Anyone else think Orlanda Bloom didnt really fit the part?He seemed to......pretty boyish.Brad Pitt was average, they could have done better yet they could have done alot worse also. But Orlando always comes across as a pretty lil rich kid,not a warrior

Yeah I remember in 8th grade world history our teacher was talking about Alex. She was hinting around the fact, and i yelled out you mean he was gay? Class was hysterical.

It isn't homosexuality, it's "Greek Love."
In other words, they did each other ndabut.
I'm not going to see it because of mixed reviews, lack of interest in ancient/fantasy battles, and lack of interest, period.

Well, I liked it. Sure it may have done some things differently, but nothing that really bothered me. The only part that sucks, is that this popular movie is gonna fuck up the comical story I had written on the trojan war. People are going to be replying, "He wasnt gay! Patricles was his cousin!!!" Argh.

Plus it doesn't have the horrifically stupid "Leprechaun leap stab". "Leprechaun leap stab" = the suck. As did when I saw people pulling swords from their backs, that is plain Hollywood there, people never wore swords on their backs, unless they pulled them out and down like you might see in old Samurai paintings. But a sword high on their back and then pulling it up and over is just dumb.
It was worth my seven bucks. It entertained me.

In the late 1800s, somebody followed the book's description and found where Troy would be. Apparently there was evidence of a city having been there.

The problem with this theory is the common practice of building cities upon the ruins of other cities. If Troy did stand there, all evidence of it being there is either going to be very hard to find, or be gone by now.
