First of all I am only using it to download legal files so it is not=teh ban.

If you don't know what bittorrent is it is like kazaa only 20x better. PM me for details.

Anyway, is there anyway to speed up downloads with this software? I don't want to wait 800 hours for most of these files. (all of wich are legal ;))

Depends on the torrents themselves, how many seeds etc.

If you are using the standard bittorrent client, I reccomend you uninstall it and burn your system, it sucks.

Download Azureus (google it, bitch), it's the best client available, the only problem is that it needs sun java to run, which can be downloaded via a link on the Azureus site.

:D

Edit - Don't limit your upload either, keep it on as high as possible.

someone suggested Azureus to me before. I had trouble getting it to work so I went back to the basic client. What is so much better about it? Will it cut down on these wretched dload times?

It probably didn't work because you didn't have java

the speed of a BT download depends on how many seeds there are and how many others are sharing.

IMO, BT is a good program, but only for files that are very popular. If you start branching into the older stuff, there are less and less seeds, which makes it take a long time to d/l.
