I've known about the GTA:Online mod, but I haven't heard a lot of good things about it. Actually, I really haven't heard anything about it. *shrug* Probably because it's just a mod and nothing official.

But still, if this allowed me to play GTA with other people online I would go buy a PC version of the game right now.

No its online, you play with other people. I havent played it in a while but its pretty buggy and lagged like hell for me. Still cool to drive around and stuff w/ other people. Try it out. I dont think I've tried that version so its probably fixed alot of bugs. I dont think its worth going out and buying vc. I'll dl it right now and see how much of an improvement there is. Btw its supported by ase and gamespy arcade.

Is it like an MMO, or do you join games?
Too bad GTA sucks.

Nah you just join individual servers. I think the player limit is small.

Postal/Postal 2 and GTA are the same goddamn game - An expensive way to piss off politicians, and give you a hard-on because you can kill something besides nazi's and Zombies and Demons.
Yeah it plays well. Just too bad its an ass idea.

They're far more than that. First games in a LONG time where developers actually took the time to include so many little things that the game took forever to get old. They actually programmed the game thinking "hmmm, what would I try if I was playing the game" so there isn't much stupid crap like being unable to traverse a foot high step. You grab a fire truck and think "Damn, it'd be cool to be able to use the hose" only to find you can, and that pedestrians will go down like bowling pins. They didn't turn into a console giant because they're nothing more than what you describe. Postal hasn't sold jack because it's a shit game. GTA is the staple of the PS2 system because it's better than the rest of the games out there.

GTA was such a novel idea that the fact that it began life as a top down 2D game didn't bother people. Looking back it was a bit cack, and it certainly threw more caution to the wind.
GTA:San Diego is looking like a pure masterpiece however.

The game was Trackmania, it's a great little racing game where you can build some insane tracks :) VERY hard to find in the USA though :P~
I drove really crap in that though, I made it all at like 3am on my birthday last year and was already a bit drunk

It's San Andreas. and the top-down veiw sucked.
There's been multimods for GTA3 and VC for awhile now. I saw one for GTA: Matrix online, or something like that.

I've played this before, it's fun and has potential. They are currently working on a GTA3 one instead. It's laggy as Hell and a few people use trainers, but it's a new look on the series.
