Stereotyping of gamers into the star trek category. I for one am annoyed by this as i have no interest in star trek. Do you guys get this - I'm sure some of you are avid viewers though but this annoys me.

You mean you don't like Star Trek? I can name off over twent different ship classes, name off the classes of all the canon Enterprises, and I know who invented the Warp Engine.

But I always thought gamers were associated with nerds in general, not Trekkies in particular.

I don't get stereotyped, but I hate how some of my friend's friends (my enemies) think I am either a Nazi, racist, or both.

Why? They got more babes in Star Trek than in Star Wars...

That stereotype exists because it was pretty much true back in the early days of video games. Like every other stereotype, it had some truth at one point but it's out dated now.

I do fit the stereotype, but I know lots of gamers who aren't big trek fans, or even what you would call a nerd.

no one besides the friends I play games with even suspect I'm a gamer so I never get any of it.
