Best BF1942 Mods?

I got BF1942, the special edition with the Secret Weapons of WW2 included, about a month ago. I've been enjoying it as it is but I read somewhere that the only reason to play BF1942 is the mods.

I went on FilePlanet and it looks like they have a ton of gameplay mods, as well as some other mods.

I'm wondering if anyone who is big on BF1942 can tell me what the most popular mods are, so i don't waste time getting the mods that no one plays.

Also, once i download the mod, how do i get it to work with the game?

I don't play vanilla anymore, here are the 3 mods I play -

99.9% of the mods come with an installer, which you just point to your bf directory, and to play them, load up battlefield and click custom game.

It's not specifically an SAS mod, but just a special forces mod, though there are a number of SAS missions, e.g., Iranian Embassy Siege, Bravo 2 Zero etc. I also work on that mod, but now all that there is to be done is to redo a load of the skins and maps, and since i'm merely a moddler, i have nothnig to do yet until work on 1.1 gets undaway. Not entirely sure when it will be out, but should be soon.

Galactic Conquest sucks, it's taken over a year to do what they've done so far. Considering how unfinished the mod is I doubt they'll finish it by the time Battlefield: 2020 comes out.

What Sputty Said, there was a GREAT SAS Mod that fell off the Face of the Earth. As for Battlefield 2 I just dont want my Battlefield Experience to turn into Battlefield: Rainbow Six 3.

yea galactic conquest has alot of potiential, and BF Pirates is awesome but theres not a whole lot to it.

BF:2 will be great, think DC, on a larger scale, with more realistic weapons(seeking missiles when appropriate), more vehicles(hopefully more realistic[in DC the T72 is better than the M1), more weapons, possible voice chat, possible destructable terrain and buildings, and graphics that match what is expected out at that time.

yea, but GC is just basically to hold us over until the release. After watching those BF2 videos, Im in awe.

Indeed, but GC is out now. When Battlefront, in all its glory, is released, I'm sure it'll blow GC away. But until then, GC gives us a chance to fufil out tie-fighter-destroying needs.
