View Full Version : PSU Mobilization Alpha

So with two more votes needed in the official poll for the PSU Mobilization Alpha (the name for the proposed meeting), I'm starting to wonder if we would get higher confirmed numbers if we moved it to August.

So, let's vote again! If you voted "yes" in the first poll, make sure you vote again here. If we can get 20 people for August, then we'll do it in August :)

***Again, do NOT vote unless you are above 86% certain that you will be able to afford travel costs and expenses for the trip and have parental permission if applicable***

I Want to go, but moneys gonna be tight :( If it was still in september, would be much better for me... otherwise, august next year? :p

Yes, still in Orlando, Florida.

What happened to "Orlando Trip: YES ANOTHER THREAD"

That title was better, imo. And a "yes" for August as long as it's 3/4 week in August.

*edit* Can't vote for both... but can go either.

The date of the trip in August is in the poll.

Haha, i would go but Aug 22 is my B-day and i also don't feel driving all the way to Florida from Ohio for a lan party, even if it is a PSU lan party.

Next year it should be a west coast meet.

Yeah, good idea Derfud, west coast of UK sounds good.

No, wait, shit, thats Wales. Fuck that.

hmmmmm, hopefully August will give me enough time to come up with the money to go.

September would have been cool. But if I have the money by August im good to go.

You should put out a call for some more adults, might make the parents feel a bit better.

There should definitely be an option for either, as it's not going to give a good reflection of what people can commit to if you make them choose one or the other if they are free during both times.

I forgot a "both" option. SUE ME!

Now that we've got 20 people signed on, it's up to Hamma-Time when the thing actually is!

August 20-23rd is close to this fair thing in the town I live in... but maybe I can make it.

Even though I am an adult and a parent, I would be very leery of taking responsibility for someone else's kid. That brings in too many legal issues. I personally wouldn't allow my daughters to go to something like this unless I went with them. Just my .02 cents worth. :)

i helped draw up the whajit papers and stuff - she's handling it just like a school field trip, complete with volunteer chaperones for the minors amongst us, and indemnity for the 'event admin'

edit: Just my .02 cents worth

that's not very much - *sob* - now i see just how much we mean to you

Mani, the consent form that I drew up was based off a military form that said there were strict rules to follow, the consequences of breaking them, we'd be able to get medical/dental treatment to kids who'd need it, and could not be sued at all for anything that happened during the Meet, ever.

I'll send you a copy of the forms, if you want, you can tell me if they're thorough enough!

well, that was my fathers main concern, how would i get medical aid if i needed it, who would call him if something happened to me, but if something did, and there wasnt a clause that said noone could sue you, and they did, id be pretty pissed.

oh, and i wanna see a copy of it.

and i think my mum wants to talk to you triggar.

I promise not to kill any kids... but I can take no responsibility for these white devils.

Just kidding! But it appears you have done your homework. Well done! Well, like I voted, August is the date for me, seeing as how I have the Rally in Sept. and two events that close together would kill the PSU attendance for myself.

In short, if it is August, I can say yes - September is no.

By the way, thanks for working all this up, Triggar! :D

Id prefer August 20-23rd, because thats alot easier on my schedule, but I could still do september if we had to.

edit: Im also a minor (for another year and a half :( ) but I travel alone and stuff anyway. Im a responsible person, or so my parents believe.

i'm afraid we'd have to send paperwork to even the responsible minors - we have to get stuff like the power to authorize medical care from your parents/whatevers

The idea of 20+ PSU-ers in one place at one time, in real life, is hilarious madness and I hope so hard that it happens! :)

doesnt help that we seem pretty evenly divided on the time in which this should take place...

Bah, ive been everywhere on my own before, I dont need no stinking permission slip. I take responisblity of my own actions.

That being said, my mom understands the whole "internet community" thing to a point, and she trusts what im saying is true, but she might want a phone call from you trig, just to talk to the person "in charge" so to speak.

Ill see if she wants to sometime.

Haha, sounds good, Gohan.

And having been everywhere on your own before or not, everyone would need to fill out a consent form releasing Hamma, et cetera, of responsibility if you do something stupid and crack your head open!

Any inquires from either you or your parents can be emailed to me at [email protected].
