Just been wondering... is being an adult boring? I mean, you go to your job every day even when every kid is out for summer?

But you make money to buy things like computer games. But the money ends up going to bills and women usually.

But the result of women is sex, which in itself is fun.

So kids have to go to school everyday.

Adults go to work more days. But with being an adult, there isnt nearly as much pressure to perform well, as much as there is motivation to perform well.

I'm sure you liked being a kid better though? My parents always tell me that being an adult sucks, which seems like the opposite they are supposed to.
You see, I made this thread because I just watched Lord of the Rings the Two Towers(whaa? ). After watching it I realized I need more adventure in my life. I don't get it. Life is so boring, and I have no idea how I'll survive the rest. I will definately be taking refuge in the army, however that only lasts so long also...
Ahh those movies are great, but make you depressed

Run away from home and join the circus. That'll give you some adventure in your life.

I rather like being a kid. I don't have to worry about taxes.

I'd like to be able to retire at an early age (early meaning before 50), so I could see the world. If I had a large amount of money, I could indulge dreams like climbing Everest and others.

But I like being a kid myself. (16)

To me being an adult is the same as being a kid only what you do and say affects more people more seriously and everything typically costs you more.

I am an adult and yet I can still be a kid when I want so that makes being an adult very cool. I have the best of both worlds! Being a kid doesn't afford you the ability to take a day and be an adult.

But enjoy your kid-hood ;) and make the best of it! Then one day when you are an adult and you want to be a kid again you will remember how, because if you forget how to be a little kid, you get old fast and people start calling you "the mean old geezer on the corner". Never forget how to play as a kid!

Then, when and if you have kids of your own, you know how to play with them and you can also remember what it was like to be one of them.

Simple wisdom from a simple adult who thinks he's still a kid. :D

PC Games are Derfud said, I personally like school how crazy it gets. Mowing Yard, after yard does get boring though. Not to mention never cleaning my room.

I am 21 years old. I work at an airport from 12 am to 8 am come home, sleep a little then go to work at a restraunt from 4pm to 10pm. The idea that my life is boreing would be a major understatement. I have been in a plane crash, seen explosions, been shot in the leg, robbed, goten laid (although that happened when I was a kid), a massive law suit thrown against me, fights, drunken spits of rage, and to top it all off I am part of CDL.
No. Saying life for me is boreing would be very very foolish.

You want to create action? Play paintball.

The only thing that sucks about being a kid is that you can't buy booze. Apart from that, I'd say being an kid is alot better than being an adult. Less things to worry about. Being a teenager sucks. You worry about the same things as adults and kids, and you can't buy booze. :(

I would happily return to any age that put me back in school. Being an adult sucks. I would kill to be the age where someone else is monetarily responsible for my well being again. As for buying liquor, that is only fun for the first few years you can do it. After that, liquor is that thing that was fun when you weren't supposed to have it.

My advice kid.... STAY YOUNG AND STAY AT SCHOOL!!! Stay as long as you can and never leave!!... Cause once you step outside between the gates of Education and Detention... There is no turning back my Son!

LOL!

Honestly it really comes down to what you think of being an Adult. If you see it as being fun, then that's what it is. Just remember, money isn't everything only when the IRS comes knocking on the door :P LOL! Seriously it's what you believe in counts.. Then again, I'll like to take up Bighoss' activity, wonder around New Zeland with a kitchen knife and kill everything you see! lol!

I don't know, I'm an adult, but I love my life more than I ever have before.

Yeah, the days where I'd ring my friend's doorbell and ask if they "wanna ride bikes" or have sleepover parties did own pretty hard, but now I can do whatever I want, whenever I want to do it. I live in my own home where I can dirty my carpet or not do the dishes and watch television until dawn. I have to bust my ass every day with flying and college, but I wouldn't trade it in for the days my sister and I would pick dandelions in "the meadow" - an unsold plot of land by my old house.

Having to buy my own groceries or pay my own bills isn't even that big a deal anyway... we still buy Popsicles and play games just like we did when we were little!

Im 17 and im grieving the thought of only having soo much time left before I have to take responsibility. I want to stay 17 and not have to worry about taxes and working every day and all that other shit.

Well, actually I think 18 should be nice. Buy my own place and live with just my g/f and be free to do whatever the fuck we want sounds nice. But still, I prefer having money to buy just stuff I want, and not wasting it on insurance and bils. :/

I want to kill things. Right now I'm only Smeagol, life feels like it will last forever, and I am one tiny little person in a bazillion.
Ok I have no idea wtf I'm talking about...

kid gets:

adult gets:
http://www.brentroad.com/photos/00255936.jpg

and you tell me which one's boring.

also, as others have noted, a regular job isn't boring if it's the right one for you.
working is a lot less boring than school, imo.

You must be kidding.

Even though every person, including me, complains about the work, teachers or whatever, we all love school.

I somewhat agree with you martyr, as it does depend on your job.

Most people i know have gone travelling the world when they are in thier twenties, i think when you hit middle age (40-55) you start to get old and i dont think you would have the energy to climb Everest :D

You have to have a permit to climb Everest, which I believe is somewhere around 70,000 dollars. It'd be not only very hard to climb, but very hard on your pocketbook.

If being an adult sucks for you, then it's your own damn fault and there's nobody to blame but yourself. And if you try to blame it on somebody else, then you're being childish. That's the major difference between being an adult and being a child. You have WAY more responsibilities as an adult. As a result you can either move your life in a good direction or totally fuck it up. Either way, you have control over it. If your job sucks, get a new one. If you don't want to pay bills, STFU and stop buying so much stuff. Being an adult is whatever you make of it.

Personally I much prefer being an adult over being a kid. But if you don't like having responsibility - and thus control - over your life, you'll probably remain a child no matter how long you live. Not to mention when you're an adult you can boss kids around. :D

BTW, letting a movie motivate you to do something is a bad idea. Please never watch any of the Hanible Lector movies.
