1st off, Alexander was a bit homosexual at times.
2nd off, the clothes are too dramitized.
3rd off, it's almost warped beyonmd recognition.
4th off, it's generic.

There's actually two bio-pics on Alexander coming out. This one by Oliver Stone, and another one by Baz Luhrman that won't be out for another year, starring Nicole Kidman and Leo Di Caprio

Troy had a lot to do with Greek gods, without those gods the story makes no sense.
(Gods were the reason the fighting started, and went on for so long)

... Troy was about Helen, not the Gods. The Odyssey was about the Gods.

Let's see, the reason Helen went to Troy and married the prince was because Hera(I think it's Hera) promised him the m ost beautiful woman in the world, and that was Helen, so the god sent Cupid(that's the Roman name) and made Helen fall in love with the prince, and go to Troy, starting the war. The war lasted so long because different gods helped Troy and certain gods helped the Greeks.

It was Aphrodite. Not Hera.

The Illiad was the book the movie was based on. The Gods were an intricate part of the book and it's story. Read the book, engage your brain, then open your mouth.

Trojan War

Trojan War, in Greek mythology, war between the Greeks and the people of Troy. The strife began after the Trojan prince Paris abducted Helen, wife of Menelaus of Sparta. When Menelaus demanded her return, the Trojans refused. Menelaus then persuaded his brother Agamemnon to lead an army against Troy. At Aulis, troopships gathered, led by the greatest Greek heroes-Achilles, Patroclus, Diomed, Odysseus, Nestor, and the two warriors named Ajax. In order to win favorable winds for the journey, Agamemnon sacrificed his daughter Iphigenia to Artemis. The winds came and the fleet set sail for Troy. For nine years the Greeks ravaged Troy's surrounding cities and countryside, but the city itself, well fortified and commanded by Hector and other sons of the royal household, held out. Finally the Greeks built a large hollow wooden horse in which a small group of warriors were concealed. The other Greeks appeared to sail for home, leaving behind only the horse and Sinon, who deceitfully persuaded the Trojans, despite the warnings of Cassandra and Laocon, to take the horse within the city walls. At night the Greeks returned; their companions crept out of the horse and opened the city gates, and Troy was destroyed. The gods took great interest in the war. Poseidon, Hera, and Athena aided the Greeks, while Aphrodite and Ares favored the Trojans. Zeus and Apollo, although frequently involved in the action of the war, remained impartial. The events of the final year of the war constitute the main part of the Iliad of Homer. The Trojan War probably reflected a real war (c.1200 B.C.) between the invading Greeks and the people of Troas, possibly over control of trade through the Dardanelles.

Yeah, but that's not including the reason WHY Paris and Helen were together in the first place. The story of the Golden Apples, that whole wealth of story just goes overlooked.

The TV miniseries "Helen of Troy" was better. This movie sucked. It had action and hot babes, but that's it. It's a Hollywood version- these are the same retards who made Titanic into something it clearly was not.

The story of the war with Troy is, for all intents and purposes, true enough. There was a war between Greece and the city-state of Troy, also known as Troas. Look for it on the map, roundabout Turkey. It was mainly over trade and water-rights, but because humans are drama fools we have to add in some chicks, some duels, and some mythology.

PS- Leonardo di Crappio sucks. Any movie with him sucks. Even if it has Tom Hanks in it.

They already have made Monty Python and the Holy Grail, which is probably more accurate than anything Hollywood'll turn out.

Yes I know both the history of Alexander and the story of Troy, Oof said "not another one" I didn't know if he meant this would be just as bad (or not as good) as a previously released Alexander movie or if he meant they would screw up the "history". (I didn't know if he knew the "history".)

I'm not an accuracy stickler like you guys are, I enjoyed Troy, I will probablly enjoy Alexander, and I am really looking forward to and hoping I will enjoy King Arthur. If i want an accurate version of these stories I will read them myself, but I go to the movies for entertainment, not a literature or history lesson on things I already know. :D
