I reformatted my windows system drive, and installed a fresh copy today because it was getting a little buggy. So I figured windows would still be able to recognize an already formatted drive after a new install, even a RAID array... Problem is, it doesn't. I can't figure out how to get access, and I really need some of the data. So, before I give up and just reformat that drive as well, I figured I'd ask here if anyone knows some way to get it to work. If anyone can help, please do.

uh-oh.

edit: tell us more about the raid, and don't get your hopes up.

2 120 gig SATA seagates in a RAID 0 array, plugged into an adaptec 2 port SATA RAID card.

Hindsight is 20/20 :tear:

yeah if you install a new windows instalation you wipe all of your registry, and with that goes the location of the files, and lots of other fun things. Basicaly you have to reformat the Raid array and reinstall it's drivers

any way you can get that RAID put into another comp, and get at the files? I dunno if its possible... but if you can try it... go for it :\

If this works, I'll try it out. Is it possible, anyone?

too bad it isnt a RAID 1... then you would only have to worry about getting one SATA drive into another comp, not the whole RAID array.

edit- as far as i know, SATA drives can be hotswapped, so you should be able to start up a comp that has a RAID card, attach the RAID 0, and transfer files. Thats just my theory though...
