And the game has changed a little bit, to both cover my own ass and to ensure that you have a maximum amount of pwnage available when you arrive in Orlando:

There will be a registration deadline of July 15th, at which point a $100 non-refundable deposit will be due to hold your place. The rest of the money will be due on the previously set date of August 1st.

This is just to give me some money to buy a new purse with to wear to the meet - JUST KIDDING - I need to order merchandise and put deposits down on venues, and also having a master list of attendees that early gives me plenty of time to add reservations and change around the ones we've already got.

The good news is, the hotel is super-tight about the security of its guests. You can't access "common grounds" in the hotel - i.e. the pool area, let ALONE any of the rooms - unless you have a key card. Only the Event Admin and the chaperones will have key cards.

The bad news is, since the hotel is so super-tight about security, Martyr and I were denied access to the grounds until our "reserved time". However we did snap some pictures of the premises and I have to say, wow, I made the right choice as far as hotel is concerned. The place was mobbed though - the queue for checking in was at least 20 minutes long - so the Event Admin will have to take care of that before the attendees get there (imagine 30 irate teenagers hungry and dirty, waiting in a line to check-in?).

Pics to come later - Martyr and I are completely famished, the fact that I wrote this post at all is a testament to my devotion to the cause :p

edit- my College is right near my work too... so during the school year I have to drive 40 mins to and from school every day... and when gas is at $2.20 a gallon like it is here up in NY... its not cheap :(

Bah I want to... but I can't wire the money yet... my car needs a new catalytic converter ($500) and my license gets suspended in a week (I have a lead foot) and I'm gonna have to pay $75 for a restricted license so I can drive to work and make my shitty $100 a week... plus $200 car payment monthly... money is really tight right now so I can't commit 100%.

I'm gonna see about pullin some money out of my reserves though. I've got a couple grand of "fallback money" in mutal funds that I may be able to draw off of. Don't worry I'll get registered as soon as I can! :)

1. 38 special is a defense and service caliber, the weapons are generally not designed for accuracy.

2. you've never seen triggar shoot, let alone one of her targets. i can tell you that's an awfully brash assumption you just made, having seen her fire .357mags one-handed.

I'm probably rusty as hell tho. I got the championship and didn't shoot for a long time (basically I'd gotten sick of practicing) and then my evil stepmother sold my bow without telling me. She'd bought about half the parts for it and I guess she felt that it was more her property than mine (even though I bought the release, stabilizer and arrows for it).

As far as guns go, I'm not all that great a shot. Basically... I can shoot a bow with better accuracy than I can shoot a gun.
