View Full Version : Suicide?
sometimes in bf1942 i find myself swimin around or stranded and too far from the action, or someone captures a base much closer to the action, and i want to respawn closer.....Does Planetside have a suicide button? and if so, whats the penalty?

I'd imagine so. most games I've played have had one just in case of those situations. If theres a spawn time it might just be longer

If not, you could always eat a nade ;)

Been stated several times by SJ that there is no suicide button or command.

Some people like to keep the suicide button handy to deprive you of a kill when they know they're dead...

I like games that take away one from your points if you manage to kill yourself (say, by misthrowing a nade and it bouncing back in the room with you :)). Not sure how that could be implemented in PlanetSide though.

I dont think you'd really want to commit suicide, cause you'd lose all your equipment and that would really suck. Plus you'll probably be penalized in some way, itll be put on your permanent record lol.

The closest thing is something the devs mentioned, which is deconstructing in a spawn tube. They said it could be used as a type of "teleportation" that way.

If you kill your self wether by accident or intentional ,you should loose BEP's if you gain points for your skills you should loose them for your lack of skills :D

Your punishment for your lack of skill is the fact that you are now dead, and are unable to fight. You are losing EXP when you die -- you just don't realize. The EXP you're losing is the EXP you would be gaining if you were alive and didn't have to wait for a revive, or wait for a transport back to the fighting. Therefore, actual EXP loss is unnecessary.

you could OD on lead
How-to:
1. Grab grenade from belt
2. Pull pin
3. GOTO: 5
4. Chuck grenade at enemy
5. BOOM!

They said there was no sucide button, but there would be away to get out of a place if you were stuck.
Also Sigurd, loosing your equipment doesnt matter anymore, everything is free.

I guess we'll all have to get there our own way, walking. unless you ask a galaxy to come pick you up.

Rommel was a great man Sigurd. too bad he was forced to fight for the wrong side. I respect him for his amazing Tactics and strategy.

Yep, it's called the 'drop a grenade at your feet' method of teleportation.

Actually, its the /stuck command. They haven't said anything more about it other than if you're stuck then you can use the /stuck command to get unstuck. Otherwise, what would you do if you were stuck and didn't have grenades?
