6/18-19/04 TR Emerald: Solsar HFS.

So, I just came from an awesome battle, and I am shocked. I have completly changed my prespective on the TR.

First off, I tryed Uni-Max, sheerly for comdic value. Granted, I would have done better if my max was vs or nc, but, I was in shock when I was accually killing people with all of them. Pounder is crap, but still, all my max's did help.

Well, going on, the VS blew the tubes and gens up at the northern most bio lab. We were forced to retreat further south. We pushed back up. Someone was able to get the tubes AND gens up. This was all with about 3 minutes left till the hack went through.

All of the sudden, we had around 50 guys spawning at our base. The CC was held by 2 squads or more with vanu. I grabbed a max, and dashed passed them all, purely as a diversonary tactic, for I had a squad or more of people behind me.

I dashed past all the vanu, and got apx half of a squad on me, I ran into the cc, got one guy, and died.

With 30 seconds left on the clock.

Next thing I know, im respawned, none of my max's are ready, so I run around in standard.

I turn the cornor to see the area around the CC completley clear. The last guy in the CC is taken out.


I check the clock.

2 seconds left.


Base has been resecured by the Terran Republic.


Holy. Fucking. Shit.

Dem Vanu must have been piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiised.



I just came from down south, the Vanu was able to get one base. Me, and another max had dedicated engies in the front door of a tech plant. Another squads worth of infantry was there.

It was exillerating.

Just as I was FINALLY pinned down to the ground by a lancer, we got a hack on their base.

I dont know what happend after that. But holy shit.

Tonight on solsar was pure bliss. I needed it so bad. Now, if you'll excuse me, im off to pick up Uni-MAX on my main.

27 dcs rushing in to a spawn room of an enemy base and ripping the tubes to shreds: priceless

27 dcs ripping a full health vanguard to pieces in less than 3 seconds: also priceless.

The max's still suck horribly compared to other empires. Pretty sure most people agree with that.

Im still going to use them though.

Striker is great against aircraft and maxs, in groups they tear up tanks, especially now that they fixed most of the lock on bugs.

All the HA are very well balanced against each other, however MCG can also work well up to MA ranges. It also does a lot more armor damage to maxs than the JH does. (neither even close to lasher, but its makes a difference)

The point is, a rexo/striker/mcg grunt can effectivly take on just about any target in the game and at just about any range they remain reasonably effective.
The only place where the MCG suffers is in its ttk on Rexos which is because of the stupidly high amount of absorbtion rexos have. Despite that, MCG tear up anything close, of course JH is gonna kill faster within 5m if it does near nothing past 10m.

Saying that all tr weapons suck because the jackhammer has a secondary that can potentially 1-hit kill providing the enemy is point-blank and holds still is just silly (rivaled only by the claim that because of shitty weapons, therefore all the tr are massivly more skilled than any other empire)

The TR are more skilled than anyone. Especially with sniping. I have never been counter-sniped while playing as a TR sniper, and i have been playing for about 4 months. Anyway. As for the maxes go... they suck alone, but when there are 4 maxes with good teamwork, the own. I never liked playing as a max unit... so i play with the sniper, MCG, REXO, and striker. all depending on what i feel.

I have a problem with the JH and the Lasher. I suck with them. I really dont know how to use them. Frankly i thinki the JH is uber-awesome if you know how to do it. The lasher, well, i think it is only really good if your whole squad has them. 50 deadly projectiles is deadly, not just 7-10 or whatever it is the lasher can fire.

I love the MCG just because of its durability. If you know how to use it, you are unstoppable. I often see VS and NC ditching their JHs and Lashers for the MCG.

So... i dont know. I think the TR weapons rule. Especially the striker. Compared the the VS anti vehicle and the NC anti vehicle, the striker is the best. The only problem is that it really doesnt pack the punch it needs to. That is why it is best used to scare away targets, (reavers or other air targets), or is to be used by at least 4 people at a time. Unless the target is standing still... your not going to kill it before it gets away.

They are so rounded that they do not excel in any particular areas. Combine this with our need for more personel to field vehicles that are not as effective as the other empire's for the EXACT reason that they try to be a swiss army knife, and you understand that TR sucks.

I have to agree TR snipers are the best in the game and I'm not just saying that cause I'm a sniper, but NC and VS need some lessons at least on Emerald. In the long run though as long as I keep getting points for killing them they can suck, if you get what I mean. But lets not get off Gohans sublect the TR maxes do suck very much so and need alittle buff. The DC needs alittle more power, the pounder needs a smaller cone of fire deffinatly in lock down stage and the Burster is pretty good where its at but needs to be able to hit flight hight so it can hit the libs like the NC and VS maxes can.

TR/VS clashes are always the best and most exciting. Much more fun then against the NC, I dunno why.....
