Ok... I want you, who knows what to buy, and what to put in a machine to make it run like it is on steroids, to decide what to put in my computer. Ok I admit, i dont know what to put in my new comp, but i do have alot of money (about $600) that i am willing to invest into a new machine.
Lets give this a contest type of feeling. I will use the one that fits me best.

Ok here are the requirements:

1) They must be full specs. (From the CPU - Mobo)
2) You must say how much it will cost together, and how much each componet will cost.
3)This computer must be made to have games played on. IT IS A GAMING MACHINE!!!
4) This cannot cost over $600 total. Except for some exceptions.

Remember that I am building a FULL machine. From scratch. Including the case.

I ALREADY BOUGHT A VIDEO CARD!! so dont include that.

The video card is the Radeon 9600 XT AGP 8x... so the mobo must be 8x..

Thanks... good luck. I wil take the best one!

Reward?

Probably a cookie.

I'm not much of an expert on mobo's and such, but I'll see what I can find for you later.

Thief!

Check www.pricewatch.com They have some pretty cheap prices there it seems. It's hard to search properly at school.

ugh... my processor costs $1,000 alone.. I can't think on such low levels when it comes to gaming computers... sorry :(

Do you need Windows XP and a Monitor?? What about joysticks, speakers, mouspad, mic? Gotta be more specific! (if you need a monitor, do you want CRT or LCD?? what kinda resolution? etc..)

The best thing to do, if you wanna find cheap stuff, is find the product on pricewatch or google or whatever, and then search the model number at www.froogle.com and you'll get wicked cheap prices.

hmm... this seems to be the only site i posted this on that is having issues. ;)

I want a computer. Not a monitor. Not joysticks, not any of that. Keep in mind that You dont need a $1,000 processor to play a game.

I am not buying a dream computer. I am buting a gaming computer. Keep in mind i already have an awesome video card, so thats 200 bucks there. Remember i upped the price to 800.. which is good.

I do not need a network card, keyboard, monitor, mouse, gamepad, etc!

this shouldnt even make the 800 mark!

thanks guys, and please, dont post here if your not going to post something intelligent.

flames = nono in here guys.

I argree wiht most of corrosions findings but have altenatives for you CPU (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-116-161&depa=1), MoBo (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-131-492&depa=1), and Ram (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-145-440&depa=1).

this basicaly gives you my comp's bare eccentials, i get >150 in sanc sometimes good 40's in most battles, and run very nice, you'll run better as your vidcard is better.

My price 189 for ram 109 for Mobo 180 for CPU
it also fills out your budget. add in a nice CPU cooler and you can probably get it up to 3.4ghz mine can. If you come up with a bit more cash go for a weastern digital SATA 120gb drive as well.

I'm an AMD guy, you're a Pentium person. And I didn't wanna go for the 1 GB RAM.

All in all, that took me 5 minutes to organize. God, you guys are a bunch of lazy fucks.
