Well, the political debate thread is dead. The liberals from the DU drove everyone off to more moderate pastures. Still, i think this will fit in the lobby since it involves something that many of us use for their news.
As many of you may (or may not) know, there is a major problem with media bias. Each side slings accusations at the other. Personally, I feel that the majority of news stations are liberal which makes more moderate news stations like Fox look conservative in comparison.
One of the most controversial news sources is www.drudgereport.com
Conservatives have long hailed it as a source for unbiased news. Both for and against conservatives. Just the truth.
The truth, however, is apparently deemed "conservative" by the liberals, and thus has suffered a bad image because of that.

Low and behold, now a graduate school research paper has put aside all the mud slinging and petty opinions. They have focused on the FACTS. They compare the news stations to the average opinions in congress. As you may or may not know, congress can get EXTREMELY liberal (just listen to Ted Kennedy), but it rarely gets EXTREMELY conservative. If you don't know what i'm talking about, watch CSPAN more often.
The result?
THE MAJORITY OF THE US MEDIA IS LIBERAL
and
THE DRUDGE REPORT IS MODERATE
Wow. What a shocker.
Not really though. News organizations have ADMITTED that, when polled, the number of admitted liberals in the news organizations more than DOUBLE the number of conservatives.
So why is it such a suprise? Why do we need graduate research projects?
I dunno. Go ask your friend next time they redicule you for watching Fox while they slurp up the trash on BBC.
