Well, not really. A problem, of sorts, that ive had to overcome, and figured it may a neat little diversion, getting those rusty gwears a' turnin' inside that noggin of yours.

You are the proud owner of a honest-to-goodnes 5.1 home theatre system at the age of 13, you spoiled bitch. Suddenly, while listening to Johnny Cash/(enter your favorite old artist here), several speakers go out, and all you can hear is shitty shitty shittyiness pouring forth like so many gallons of water from the speakers.

You have a box of the receiver/speakers in the garage. You have no idea where the manuals for either are.

Solve without spending any money/comitting any crimes/DHITB

You're spoiled, just bitch to the parental units. They'll get you a 7.1 system to replace the 5.1.

Indeed... and let it be known that those who do not buy their own things are spoiled... and spoiled = death when you get into the real world...

Troubleshoot the speakers. Check and ensure all the wiring is making a good connection to the speakers and the receiver. Check the receiver and ensure it's set properly for 5.1 while listening to CDs.

If this doesn't work, check how long ago you bought it. Most manufacturer's have a 1 year warranty on their product, so if it's covered, they'll likely replace it. Check to see if you have an extended service plan with the place you bought the 5.1 system. Some places will allow you to exchange the unit within the manufacturer's warranty, some will not.

If none of the above works, cry like a little bitch.

Do you have a receiver? If all of the speakers aren't working there may be a problem with the unit and not with the speakers. The only way all of the speakers shouldn't work is if you blew out the entire system. I know about this 'cause my wife, two years ago on New Year's Eve was shitfaced with her friends and started fucking around with my stereo system. She ended up frying all of my speakers and the entire receiver. Total damage was over $3,000.

Im 16, ive had this system/replaced it a few times over the years. I bought it with my own money I had saved up for a long time, so, those "spoiled bitch" comments are wrong.

Solution, which controlledburn had frighteningly close:

Get pissed off, go through receiver box. Find warranty sheet. See that warranty expired ONE DAY AGO. Call Pioneer. Cy/bitc/moan. Get as letter for a free repair on the rceiver. Find out nothings wrong with the receiver. Take speakers down there. Find out impedance on speakers has DOUBLED, and are now useless. Lack a 5.1 system for some time. Get a new(speaker set) one from your stupidly rich asshole father for christmas, 2 years later.
