Antec makes the best power supplies. And you don't need 520W unless your hooking up a microwave to your PC. Your best bet is to go with an Antec case.
The best case i've ever seen is this one right here:

http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=11-129-115&DEPA=1

430W Antec True Power. Space for 5 fans (2 front, 2 rear, 1 side). Sleek, sexy look. And, best of all, it's STEEL baby.

As for your motherboard, theres only ONE true option. The Asus P4C800-E Deluxe. Best motherboard out there, period. Heres the link, check the reviews.

The timings on that memory is HORRIBLE. Go with this instead:

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-146-940&depa=0

Dual Channel, which works with the P4C800-E deluxe i suggested. The timings are super tight, and OCZ is on Asus's reccomended list.

Good sound card.

I would recomend going with an ATI instead of the Saphire for the X800 Pro.

if you didn't notice he is getting an AMD not intel and PC Power and Cooling makes the best power supplies. Don't listen to Tek, get this one, better memory (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-146-290&depa=0)

Those have slower timings. The ones I selected have tighter timings and have ECC.

I realize he was getting an AMD. I think that's a mistake - I reccomended the best motherboard and a great P4 to go with it. He can overclock that in 3 key clicks (with the Asus P4C800-E Deluxe) and it will be faster and STILL run cooler than an AMD.

the memory i recommened is about 70 bucks cheaper. You did not recommend a CPU only a mobo and no matter how much you OC it his will run faster and last longer.

What? A OC'ed P42.8 can beat any AMD out there. Those things OC so fucking sweet, especially with a Asus P4C800-E Deluxe. You can get 3.4GHz, EASY with 1000 MHz FSB.

The temp? STILL lower than a regular AMD, meaning it's going to last longer.

If it wasn't for OCing, i'd be on the AMD bandwaggon. But now that OCing is so cheap and effective, and doesn't lower the lifetime noticably (who uses a processor for more than 3 years?) Pentium is the only way to go. The hyperthreading and high FSB (especially after OCing) is just icing on the cake.

from all the gaming benchmarks that i have seen not even the Intel 3.4 Extreme can keep up with the AMD 64 3800, and the 3.4 extreme does beat the 3800 it is by a small margin, but when the 3800 beats the 3.4 extreme it is by a much larger percentage, so where do you get the idea that an OCed P42.8 is superior to an AMD 64 3800?
