Heavygain
2004-06-29, 03:24 PM
We have some interesting alias's here on PSU. I was wondering if anybody would be willing to share their alias's orgin.

Well, Heavygain came from starcraft, I was always terran, always had a big ass yomato gun thing, gained a shitload of territory FAST, and my old clan named me. We disbanded cause some asshat thought that he could lead us better and left, and many followed.

Forsake, doesnt mean jackshit, if hamma were to read this, PLEASE GOD BRING BACK TEH HEAVYGAIN!

I was trying to get an original and non-numbered Hotmail address. I started with Sobek the Egyptian crocodile god added an 'e' and Hotmail added the 'us'. I think it came out pretty nice. Never had someone else using it. And I've had it about 5 or 6 years now.

Patially blanked out Speedway sign.

Malachi comes from (dur) the Bible, and I use it simply 'cause its the most bad-assed religious name ever.

Magnus comes from a childrens book. See Bad-Assed namitude.

Melchior is one of the three Wise men.

Guildenstern is from a Shakespearean play, which I happen to adore.

And thats all of my Alias'/Thier origins.

Derfud
2004-06-29, 03:48 PM
Well to find the origins of Derfud, we must first explore the origins, of the original name. Derfu. I created the name Derfu while playeing perfect dark on my gameboy colour, when it asked me to put in my name, I hit all the buttons at random, and Derfu came out. When I made my first hotmail address I tried to use Derfu, but it was already taken, so I added the D, thought it flowed better, thus creating Derfud, But when I'm playing a RPG I always name my character Svordjik, I dont know why, I just thought it sounded cool, and relatively norse.

OfaLoaf
2004-06-29, 03:59 PM
The first name I ever used on a forum was Olaf da Fool, which was for a zelda site my friend spammed. I always had associated zelda and the like to midevil stuff and D&D, so I picked out a random D&D-ish name. I used that name elsewhere. Soon, another started to call me Ofaloaf, sorta like how shoey2u used to change names a little. I use Ofaloaf in some places, and Olaf da Fool in others.

QuakCow
2004-06-29, 04:05 PM
quakcow comes from the quack of a duck and the name of a farm animal, the original name i tried to get was Rabbit Commander but that was taken so i chose QuakCow, even though it has nothing to do with Quake, i did play alot of quake at the time. so there ya have it, the screwed up origin of teh quaker

Black
2004-06-29, 04:50 PM
Black stands for Blackknight in my old clan they always called me black do to their lazyness so i jus stuck with it

Biohazzard56
2004-06-29, 05:01 PM
Back in Earth and Beyond beta they asked me for a charaectar name and I was watching TV at the same time I was installing and about to play the beta and I heard on Extended Playe (now Xplay on G4TechTV) that the japaneese name of Resident Evil was Biohazard. Due to my piss poor spelling I put two Zs instead of one. The 56 comes from when Planetside went retail and the name Biohazzard was already taken, and BlackKnight5628 was my old AIM Screename so logically 56.

Triggar
2004-06-29, 05:08 PM
When Martyr and I were still in the early stages of our budding relationship, I called him "Trigger" because of his affection for guns. When the time came for me to choose a name for the now defunct Avion forums (my school's newspaper), I was at a loss as to what to make my nick. So Martyr enlisted the help of his friend MVTek who dubbed me "TriggerHappy" in honor of my massive crush on the man formerly referred to as "Trigger".

But then when I started to play Planetside, the name "TriggerHappy" was of course taken, as was the name "Trigger", so I was stuck with the name "Triggar".

oddfish
2004-06-29, 05:38 PM
i love water, and i'm weird. One of my old girlfriends said i'd make a cute fish... don't ask. And then, the pastor at my grandmother's church in Ohio said i was odd. I figure, if a representative of God (psh, right) says i'm odd, then that's it, i'm odd. So, oddfish.

No, you dont have to call me exe. I just want it there.

Jaged
2004-06-29, 05:46 PM
Back in the days of a little game called majestic. (Any one remember that game btw?) I was trying to think of a name for my AIM account. BlinkBSS came to mind. After using that for a while, I became tired of people thinking I liked Blink 182. After much brainstorming I came up with JagedBSS. The missing g in jaged is due to my piss poor spelling. Soon I realized that Jaged was uncommon enough that I could use it fairly often. When that is taken I use JagedOne. If that is taken, I will go back to JagedBBS, a slightly changed form of JagedBSS.

JetRaiden
2004-06-29, 07:21 PM
mine was originally raiden, from MGS2, but due to complications at the release, I couldnt have that name. the jet part is from cowboybebop. most people from my old outfit the 1AD still call me raiden.

Hamma

My last name.

EineBeBoP
2004-06-29, 07:57 PM
Ein from cowboy bebop, bebop from... well cowboy bebop.
my horrible spelling added the extra E.

I've been thinking of changing/shortening it, but.... I like it, and it'd just be too confusing to change now.

Hayoo
2004-06-29, 11:33 PM
When I was playing Dark Age of Camelot I created a second character named Heyyou There. I loved that toon more than my first so he became my main and that's who my guild knew me as.

When I got Planetside, Heyyou was already taken, so I reworded it to Hayoo. It's funny hearing people try to pronounce it: "High-yoo? Ha-E-oo? Hay-oh?"

My first guildmates just ended up calling me "christ".

Pilgrim
2004-06-29, 11:43 PM
Ummm

Pilgrim...

Ummm

I really like Westerns and every Noob was using Hunter (MY orriginal Hacker Handle from back when Hacking was kewl)

So I changed.

I was also in an all christian Guild in DAOC at the time, and every one had odd names like Christdeffender and Bible thumper (no really) so I wanted a good christian-ish name without the obvious lameness of the above. Thus Pilgrim!
