View Full Version : So I went to the Specialist Doctor dude today

Hezzy

He fiddled around with my knee and he said that my Paleta's (sp?) groove that it sits in may be too shallow, and that's why I have near constant dislocations. I got some x-rays took, but he's none the wiser. He's sending me to an even specialer specialist who is a specialist in knee specialisation. Or something.

Cliffs:

1) Doctor trip
2) Doctor says my Paleta might be sitting in a shallow groove
3) Get x-rays, doctor doesn't know, he's sending me to another guy
4) I may have to get surgery on my knee
5) ...
6) No profit yet

So Hez, is this an injury-related knee problem or a degerative knee problem? I know your patella is all knackered, but did you do something to get it that way?

...dude, I respect what you say, and I know your a younger PSU member, but there are better romodels.

Anyways, my dad had something just like that as well a few years ago. He coulnd't play sports for while, had an operation, it was a big thing. But he didn't catch it as early as he could of.

Hezzy
2004-07-08, 11:06 AM
I think I inherited it off my dad, because he's had the same problems. It may have been caused from me playing rugby alot, but I don't think that's the case.

Anyway, I hope it is a shallow groove. That way I can get surgery and start playing sports again :D

Manitou
2004-07-08, 11:09 AM
Hezzy, hope all goes well. I have had three knee operations now due to sports related injuries. They are tough, but you can recover fully and in good shape by lots of exercise and a good attitude. I am assuming you are fairly young, so that should be a big help in recovering quickly.

Also, if the docs allow it, maybe get some physical therapy prior to the operation (if it is indeed a necessity) to help with the recovery process afterwards. If you have any questions about what to expect as far as a knee operation, please PM me and I can try and answer them! I am not a doctor, but like I said, I have had a few operations and I can at least share some of the things that go on. :)

Not really. The fact you hinted at me being a cripple offends me alot. I used to be able to knock 2 people of the way when I played rugby, and I can't do that now. That makes me unhappy.

But ofcourse, you meant to offend me didn't you? You always do some sort of ninja-insult to make it look like you're innocent. Well, I thought you had changed when you kept saying you were against flaming. But now, I can see you havn't. Welcome back to my ignore list, Tek.

1. I know, my father in law has one with a gas motor that can go 23 MPH.
2. I don't consider you a lucky bastard either, it was a joke. Sorry if my political incorrectness offended you. I have a person I see every day and that I love who is a quadropalegic and uses an electric wheel chair. We bust his balls all the time for sitting on his ass all day.

I'm glad some of you thought it was a joke. I especially apologize to mechaman if he thought i was being insensitive. Triggar and Oni - get off my nuts and put me on ignore.

I knew a hemopheliac kid in elementary school, he was alienated, and didn't come to school that often. I helped him around a lot. He was often in a wheelchair. It's really unfair and sad..because those are really the nicest people. :tear:

To be honest, being a hemophiliac or being crippled doesn't make you nice. They have the same personalities as everyone else. Getting a disease doesn't make you a saint.

However, i do agree that it is unfair that they ARE alienated by *some* (not all, there are many people who can see past it to the person) of society and never get a chance to show what kind of person they really are.

I'm a Yankee who's mouth has been tainted by the waxy goodness of Yankee confections.

Sainsburys do pwn though, I'll admit it. But I still crave the good ole Tesco brand. I never really liked the McVities brand - but their digestive bisquits! OH the deliciousness!!
