I didnt think much of it but from a screenshot it looks pretty fun. initially, at least.

edit: is it just more or are there very few corpses for a D-Day invasion. especcially since it looks to resemble utah or omaha beach.

I haven't downloaded the demo yet, maybe tomorrow, but those landing craft should be much farther away. It took Infantry about 30 minutes to get from the craft to the land, so they weren't swimming anymore, assuming they weren't gunned down.

just played it. lots of fun. lots of specialized infantry on the landing. e.g., engineers have to clear the mines or the tanks will get eaten alive. also, if a flamethrower gets shot in the back, his tank explodes, killing everyone within 10 ft of him.

Well, what other time period can make a (good) FPS. There really aren't that many WWII RTS's... Panzers, SHOWWII, and all of those other terrible WWII RTS's.

Well I'm not really into RTS but, I'm getting it and calling my friend over for a LAN match so I'm downloading it and it's only a 64 minute wait and the download time is usually always really high when it turns out to be a lot less.

speaking of WWII games, Brothers in Arms looks like it could be really good. its a tactical shooter, not really just a run and gun like everything else. you can command fire teams in multiplayer too!!!1

Think about it. The genre hasn't been touched since Leisure Suit Larry (which is a classic), the controversy alone would sell a zillion copies (remember when the media jumped on GTA?) , and every pre-teen on the planet with a little fuzz on his nutz would NEED a copy to be cool. It's a gold mine, and it's my fucking idea. I want my phat check now plz.

I tried playing this a bit, it seemed good, but some things bothered me.

I liked how all of the different units had realistic weapons, and the most popular weapon was the Garand, not the Thompson. One thing that bothered me was that the medics had Colt's, when in reality, Medics weren't armed at all. The officer class is pretty unique, and I like how the Sherman's are DD's. Like I said before, the landing crafts are too close to the shore, and they should be farther back.

I haven't played it enough to give a final testimony, though.
