View Full Version : Spiderman 2 sucked

That may seem to be a rather in-elequent way to put it, but it sums up my feelings nicely.

The first 2/3 of the movie were utter trash. I felt like I was watching one of the fiance's soap operas.

"Awww.. Spidey's having emotional problems and can't climb the fucking wall"

Cry about it.

I swear to god, if it wasn't for:

1. The Catwoman trailor (Halle Berry in tight leather with a whip = omg)
2. Mary-Jane getting all chained up and wet
3. Watching Octavius kick the ever-loving shit out of Spider man over and over

I would have called the outting a dismal failure.

Discuss (not that I care, but it'd be interesting to hear some other reasons why Spiderman 2 sucked)

[EDIT] Oh, and MJ has some sexy ass thighs, i was lovin that blatant ass shot when she got thrown to the ground.

I thought it was pretty good, but that's not what this thread is about, so I guess I have nothing to say.

What did you like about it? The drama or the whining? Or maybe it was watching him try to run across that roof - looking like a complete freak.

I thought it was good...and apparently the rest of the country does...its the highest grossing film of all time.

Some people can apprectiate drama and character development, some people just wanna see cars exploding.

I thought the movie was O.K. but i usually require a careful balance of both these things in my movies. Spider man just didn't have enough cars exploding for me to call it a great movie.

It's going to gross high for 2 reasons:

1. It's spiderman
2. The first movie was awesome

true, but people appreciate the depth of the storyline with Maryjane (god I love that name) and Peter Parker. its a relief from every action movie with all the gratuitous violence.

If I want depth i'll turn on General Hospital.

Have you ever watched the old movie Excalibar? Or Conan?

Now THOSE are action movies with the PERFECT amount of action and plot.

I liked it partly because it had a good plot, but mainly because you hated it.

No, Spider. You guessed wrong. LOTR was the best movie series since Rocky.

Care to try again?

Ya. I liked it, it was good, but not great like I thought the first one was. Tek if you don't like it stop trying to make others see it your way. Alot of people like it, you didn't, nothing you can do.

Omg, you kidding? Power rangers kicked ass. It was SO cool watching them shoot the ground 5 feet in front of some alien and watching that alien fly into the air. Or some weird costume dude does a backflip 10 feet away from a power ranger and the power ranger goes flying.

Fucking l33t.

I'm pretty sure Tek wasn't trying to convince anyone of anything.

Anyway, I agree that the second one wasn't any better than the first. I would say that the first was a tad better than the second.

Edit: Aw, I never watched the Power Rangers. I lived an ignorant childhood :tear:

Don't worry. As long as you watched X-men, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Transformers you'll be ok.

I wouldn't say it was worst than the first one. But certainly wasn't better. They are probably both on par with each other.

(SPOILER ALERT!)

I thought the part where spider man was layed down on the sub way cart floor without his mask infront of all those people was kinda lame. My ass they would keep such a thing a secret!!!!!

wait wait wait, now if you watched Robotech when you were a kid, you can substitute that for Transformers, geez tek, you should have mentioned that to the kid too.

I thought it was better than the first. Doc Oct was a much better bad guy than goblin. Goblin's mask looked like a weak little cartoon. I also thought Doc Oct just looked cool. But the end was by far the best. They really set it up for a 3rd possibly a 4th. Either goblin coming back through the kid, or maybe venom comes down w/ the astronaught dude during a space mission. (I used to love spiderman as a little kid)

Seriously though, what was up with them 'putty men' in Power Rangers? Who in their right mind puts a round button on their minions stomach that isntantly destroys them? They could have just run round with big poles and poked all the bad guys. And why didnt they just hang out in their mega uber combines dragon thing of death?

Of course Spiderman 2 sucked, the first one did too. Horrible story, stupid writing, idiotic actions scenes with nothing that makes them any good, and a general corny feeling to the movie(also it uses constantly overused music such as "Mars"[not sure if it uses that piece, but something like that is probably used a couple times])

Indeed. Movies suck.
But tek was banned. So i might go "acquire" Kill Bill 2.

It was a lot better than the first one. Spider man has shitty luck to counterbalance all those nifty powers.

my girlfriend really liked it, and I think it was ok, most of the action was good but some was too unrealistic, but its a movie based off a comic book whatever, it wasnt that bad I liked it

Id give it a 7/10

Madcow

It was a very good movie, superior to the first because we actually give a crap about the main villain. Raimi's ability to take specific frames from the comic (Spidey's costume in the trash bin amongst others) as well as move in and out of other styles (the hospital scene style was taken directly from Raimi's Evil Dead films) added an extra layer to make the film even more enjoyable. Was it completely unrealistic? Of course. It's a freaking comic book. It's called suspension of disbelief, look it up. If you go into a comic book movie searching for realism you might want to reevaluate your priorities.
