Starting July 26th, the shutdown of the WON authentication servers will begin. This process will be completed on July 31st. This means players will no longer be able to access Internet features of Valve games, such as Counter-Strike 1.5, using the WON authentication servers. Users can continue using Valve games on the Steam service by downloading the Steam installer and setting up a Steam account. For more information visit www.steampowered.com. Counter-Strike 1.5 players will be upgraded to Counter-Strike 1.6 free of charge through Steam.

CS takes more skill thank PS (Shooting wise) However shockinly enough PS takes alot more thought. This is why CS should die. Anyone with 10 hours a day can become a cs god. Not so with PS, as the requittable equipment can be lacking.

Why do people continue to subject themselves to the torture that they call 'Counter-Strike'?

CS will dominate again on the new source, but in its current state I can barely play it for 10 minutes. it has one of the worst online communities Ive ever seen. it reminds me of those Egyptian bazaars in Indiana Jones movies...if someone cheats you, stabs you, and pisses on your face, and no one cares. especcially unsupervised servers.

oh no doubt I wouldnt touch counter strike now. but on the new source it shall return to its glory, at least for a little while.

if oyu look at it now the average CS player still has a pretty shitty comp unable to play HL2. so the community will definatly improve alone from weeding out those people. not to mention there are ways to protect against cheaters and asshats nowadays that just wernt present back in the CS haydays.. so hopefully the support will be stronger on this new engine...

Yeah because the AwP is harder to use than the bolt driver :p

The principles in both CS and PS are the same, control your fire to keep your accuracy. Only differences are it takes less shots to kill someone in CS and the CoF bloom is generally smaller in PS.

Either way, Counter-Strike sucks :P~

CS is much more twitch based than PS, which is more about tactics. Personally i dislike PS because it takes so long to kill people, and theres no location damage. I know the reason for the lack of location damage, but that doesnt mean i have to like it.
