The previews for FarCry Instincts all seem to indicate a less than impressive game, so I'm not interested. Besides, if you have FarCry for PC, I don't really understand why you would want a console port.

Anyway, I'm a Half Life fan, not a Doom one. So naturally I'm looking forward to HL2.

No, FarCry Instincts is just FarCry for consoles (I believe XBox and PS2). It's not actually a direct port, but it retains the same core gameplay of the PC and throws in a few more features (additional weapons, vehicles, and missions) not present on the PC version. Doesn't seem worth it, in my opinion. Plus, graphics are horribly crude compared to the original.

When I said that I don't know much about Farcry I mean nothing the most I know is that it's an FPS for the PC. I've seen the HL2 video and the Doom 3 video looks great but mostly all I've seen is showing off the graphics which are great but isn't all that makes up a game though it looks good I see it as another great game but not the best game ever. And I'm not sure about Doom 3 surley I'm going to rent it for the Xbox to try it out but, it doesn't really appeal to me.

i found the leaked alpha version and it's fun as hell granted it only has a few levels

i doubt you'll have to wait very long for HL2 "goes gold" since i'm damn sure valve was waiting for doom3 to release and id waiting for HL2, it just turns out id had less patience

I think having "classic" multiplayer style is a dumb design decision. "Wow, we're getting to the where you can have 64+ players in a multiplayer game, lets make it 4 because people liked that 10 years ago! at least make an option to have a 16 player TDM or CTF.

Yeah, it's mainly a horror game, so I'm guessing there will be a maximum of about 3 monsters onscreen usually, so it shouldn't lag THAT bad.
