If you are a Computer Tech, and have ever encountered a failing windows install you feel my pain. This little tiny CD is a must for anyone who calls themselves a computer tech. I've used it to recover data from several failed HD/s Installs.
And, I even look cool with it:

Sweet, I've been using knoppix as a CD distro, but this is more of a recovery tool, right?
Will have to give it a go :)

Ok i'm not a computer tech but how do you use it to recover files from your hard drive if it's running off the CD ROM?

If you cant get into the operating system on the hard disk, you can use a CD based OS to access it.
I also use Overclocktix, and knoppix, Have to test this out, seems more appropriate for the job at hand.

It only mounts drives in read mode, however you plug in External HD's and you can pull info.
You can also mount them in RW
