Something occured to me the other day. Why cant the lodestar function as an inventory terminal for ground troopers as well, as it usualy becomes a rally point. As i though of this it occured to me, why not make the natural extension of this be allowing the load star to deploy like an ams, keep its repair/rearm function and spawn troops. Yes it whould have no cloak, but it whould greatly increase the loadstars usefullness on the battle field.

Thats kinda the point why shouldnt people be able to spawn at it?

because then it would be unbalanced
Edit: People would greatly abuse this power all a squad would have to do is matrix to it then undeploy it fly it to the base then deploy and have everyone who matrixed to it deconstruct and start fighting at the new base
But its still a good idea

People can do the same thing with ams really, if anything the load is more vulnerable as it has no cloak, is slow and is a big target.

Yes they can do the same thing with a AMS but the diffence between those two is that a LodeStar can get there faster. Just fast enough to find a nice quiet spot to deploy and play havok on the other base.

Have you flown a load, their slow, finding a spot to land them is dificult at best and they stick out on the battlefield like a sore thumb, their just as vulnerable if not more to Orb strikes and liberator runs as the ams.

sorted? I dont understand what you mean, additionaly the solution you mentioned overlooks the fact that the lodestar is a next to worthless nich market kind of vehicle. This whould give it some added functionality without undercutting the AMS which is still cheaper, and has the cloak field.

Well it's not worthless. I mean the tactic above is very useful, especially on places like Ceryshen for getting AMSs around continents quickly. Not to mention getting any ground vehicle anywhere quicker than if it were to drive.... within reason.
Not worthless, but a specialist niche :)

I just think the niche is a little too specialized for the pain in the butt they are to bring in from a distant dropship center or the sanc, just my two bits.

I think its a great idea. i mean the AMS is more for a permanent location that your going to set up. But to be able to use the loadstar as a kind of flying AMS is a good idea. It wouldn't be overpowered because everyone has it and it fly's like a brick/cow so the only places youd be flying it would be friendly ones or semi-friendly ones. Maybe if it either had only limited spawing ablitlities like it could only spawn ten times before having to relead or just couldn't respawn within 300 meters of an enemy base. Regardless of spawning i think it would be great to have an equipment locker on the thing. Speaking of which it would be nice if there was a storage space on the galaxy for ammo and nades and such. ;)

There is, its called the trunk. Incidentaly though i see no reason the limit its spawning ability. Anyone landing this thing anywhere in firing distance of a base is just asking to have it blown up.

He he he, i like the idea of landing one of these babies on top of a tower :D. But really, as it was stated before, loading an AMS into the thing would achieve about the same effect.

No it whouldnt, because loading an AMS in require 2 support troopers instead of one. Secondly Why should a unarmed vehicle capable of repairing vehicles and refilling ammo for vehicles NOT be able to at the very least arm troops if not spawn them.

Lodestar is fine, just carry an AMS if you really want to do that.
