So...I just got done playing some of my Conquer the world on RoN. I just cant belive how much the game pwns.

However, I don't like games like Rise of Nations (or Age of Empires) for multiplayer. My favorite RTS's:

2. Command & Conquer: Generals Zero Hour (Well, it used to be, I used to compet in TWL all the time)
3. Rise of Natiosn (Just for SP...)

Rise of Nations (Thrones & Paitriots) is a kick ass game. I play Lan games just about every weekend with my friends. So much fun! I love my Turks.

C&C Generals is good too. But I haven't played that game in a long time.

These are also the ONLY RTSes I own. I'm more of an FPS/CFS guy. However, another good non-RT strategy game is Hearts of Iron with the Stony Road mod.

I love RTS's....probably have spent the most time on AOE, AOE2 and RON.

Turks are my favourite in RON because of all thier Siege capabilities. Forts and towers aren't a problem for me. I also like that they can assimilate cities 200% faster.

- American: Resource collection for infantry, free first instant wonder, and the ability to rush and boom at the same time.
- Eqyptian: Gets Pyramids one age earlier than any other age.
- Bantu: Get's 300 population. Goes up to 350 with Colossus. Can be boosted up to 400 with peacock's. That's absurd.

Agreed. I just crush them all into the dirt by building a Terra Cotta Army and massing Jaguar Assault Infantry.

Also, the no_nuke script is a godsend: I suck, so I always got nuked by the PC.

Since I refuse to play as the "three overpowered nations", I play as France. Make all the jokes you want, I like their bonuses. Healing supply wagons, which heal a lot more with Versailles. Also, I like the free general thing.

FUCK!HAH! Same thing happens to me when I play with my firends. One of them usually plays as Americans most of the time. I try and get that wonder that allows me 50 extra men. But my other friend always get it! ><

Thakfully we only play till the enlightenment age. So he doesn't get any of his more modern age bonouses. Because once you get tanks and missles the game starts to get a little ridiculous.

Runners up would probably be the Homeworld series (Tied, TBH because the story was awesome), and TA.

Early, Bio, you both bring up very good games.

Total Annihilation was a very good RTS, and would be impossible to balance if each side didnt have the same units but in different configurations, though in Core Contengancy that was tipped because the huge mech the Core side gets, though the Arm side did get the Warrior, which was a very good grunt, fires like 2 PeeWees, and also shoots artillery.

Then Metal Fatuige, my god, that was a VERY good RTS, its story was that of a RPG, and the voice actors made it belivable too, Stefan of all the brothers, was IMO the coolest. (he was the milargo kid FYI) and i also enjoyed the differences of the Combots, how Milargo was so brute, and Neropa Limt. was very stealth and assasin like. i keep on telling people about this game, noone goes out and buys it, but it is by far one of the best RTS ive ever played, and in my opinion, if not the story, then the Combot system was the best part of this game, each variation made the combot fight differently, and in hand to hand, totaly changed everything up, like the actions the mechs took changed apon each others parts, i really enjoyed watching two mechs fight hand to hand, block, parry, attack, it was great.

and Alpha Centuri, i fuckin owned at that game, nuff said, too bad the story line in its single player was so small.

Red alert was exelent, very good acting, fun maps, though, somewhat annoying, oh, i remember this one, playing as ruskies, where i had to cross a river, take a island, and also blow the shit out of the enemy, and was that a hard map, taking that island was damned near impossible, even when i zerged em 10 to one.

I remember that mission, i just turtled and destroyed their navy one ship at a time. then invade with tanks and planes. my favorite mission was the last soveit one. i had 4 telsa coils at each entrance to my base, i had 12 air fields for air support and invaded with 16 mam tanks. ah the power!

Best RTS of all time: Homeworld (1&2, Cataclysm just sucked however)

2nd place: Rise of Nations (I have never played Thrones & Paitriots, but it can only be better)

3rd place: Starcraft (<3 for teh old school)

I just wish I diddn't suck so much at RTS's. They are fun if I can find an equaly shitty oponnent, though.
