Please check my logic:

Not sure if this has been covered, but i believe that the first set of battle islands will take over ishundar. My reasoning? Well man of many spoilers t-ray may well have release the info, and if i'm right i'm amazed no-one spotted it sooner.

You should know that screen. Next:

Right, now you can clearly see searhaus in the top pic. (along the P)
Below the 'd' you can make out the VS sanc.
Above the 'e' of Planet you can see Forseral. (given away by the few big lakes)

Now if you keep folowing that round you would get to Ishundar, correct? Well look at it in the top pic, it is obviously spilt into 2 islands (or more past the horizon).

Seeing as the only other 2 islands with a split down the middle are hossin and cyssor (and they are not next to searhaus) i conclude that if t-ray did his job correctly Ishundar will be the new battle islands!!

You may be right, your reasoning seems sound. Then again, it could just be a random coincidence.....

I absolutely HATE the idea of current continents going away for a smaller area that caters to kill-whores. Leave the cheap gaming aspects of other, lesser, shittier, cheat-filled games with the gutter trash where it belongs.

I'm all for ADDING them to existing areas, or maybe making a larger map (think a few long bridges that lead to an island just off the coast of, say, Cyssor), maybe some shallow water for people who want to run, and there's always ancient-tech, Vanu, and Deliverer vehicles to get you across.

what if one of those islands are the tr sanc and the other is apart of amerish? if so i dont like the idea of ish being the one to go cause thats my favorite one to fight at.

A long bridge with one or two small fortifications that can be captured and used as spawn points similar to a tower would make for some fun game play. The bridge would have to be elevated so Mag drivers wouldn't be the toll takers of the bridges. I've always enjoyed a good bridge fight.

But adding another map to further spread out the player population sounds like more Core Combat theory. It sounded good but just didn't work well.

I've never made the connection between the login graphic and the actual global map.
You get the CSI: PS award for that. Hmm. something to consider..

That may not be why Ishundar is missing. For a start Auraxis is the wrong way around. That island next to what is clearly Searhus is Tara, and Tara is on the West coast of Searhus, not the East. Secondly, when you take this into account, it seems that most of the continents are in the wrong positions. Below is my interpretation.

http://www.ventral.btinternet.co.uk/images/startexplained.jpg

Now it looks a bit crap because I had to brighten it up to show up the continents. I've shown possible locations of bases and warpgates to show how I've come to the conclusion of which continents are which. I am not sure what the top left land mass is, it could be Amerish, it could be Cyssor I'm not sure. There's a remote possibility that it is Ishundar.

The map could be a simplistic version of Auraxis (like underground train maps which look nothing like the actual tunnels) to make it easier to use.

i think the maps is set up wierd anyway, Esmir and cery should be on the poles of the planet ect. The need to be placed according to climate

All the more reason why it's a simplified version :)

Lart that island you labeled as Fors, I believe it's the TR Sanc. If you look at the in-game global map, you see that there's sort of an island on the right side of the sanc, just like on the PS loading screen.

EDIT: Actually, never mind, looking at it again, it looks nothing like the TR Sanc.

They've already said it's not a natural planet, it was made by something (Forgot who, Spork or Smoke I think)

Yeah it's kinda strange I know Chewy since Forseral seems a lot larger than the island in the picture. But Forseral has lakes in similar positions.

And yeah I do remember Smoke or Spork saying that Auraxis was made using (Vanu?) technology as opposed to natural causes.

I think that that was a concept that was put into color. Its not accurate. And with the 3rd pic why did you flip it? lol. Anyway... if your right, sharp eye. Good for you, buy i think that they are going to go where there are no other continents, in the NE region of the global map. Doesnt that seem logical enough?

HawkEye

didn't they say one continent is going to be taken away?

Read the explaination, it's often a good idea. Put simply, Auraxis on the loading screen is the wrong way around.

Instead of breaking one whole continent, why didn't the Devs decide to break off little chunks off each continent. That way everyone would still be able to play on their favourite continent (and Ishundar is my favourite continent :( ).

Haven't heard that one Phatboy. It's to do with server resource allocation as opposed to requiring land.

well it is either cyssor or ish no doubt in my mind, they are both too big and full of empty space. now I think it is going to be cysor and here are my reasons......

#1 the event on july 3rd was held on cyssor, smokejumper has said he isn't fond of cyssor why would they pick that cont?

#2 an increasing ammount of playtests have been held on cyssor, with the ocasional deviatin to ish just to keep us on our toes.

#3 the newly discovered addition of earth quakes and meteors, mainly the earth quakes though. and this is why

"The quakes that still rattle Cyssor shook this continent until it broke and the pieces that remain look more like islands than an intact continent.

Bridges span the many waterways on this island continent and it still has the tallest mountain on the planet.

Commanders will recognize the many traffic flow bottlenecks and the centrally located Dropship Center in the middle of Cyssor."

the earth will shake and along with the meteors will reshape face of the cont until it breaks apart further and we are left with the three islands.

Yeah Cyssor rocks.

#1 and #2 could be because most people like cyssor and love the fighting around Gunuku. Why would they get rid of such a popular continent?

#3 is probably going to happen on every continent.

They should just use the big empty ocean area in the top right of the map, theres loads of room :)

I think that blank space was put there intentionally for the chat window...

Yup :)

Please remember that they're not removing a continent because they need the room on the map, they're removing a continent for the server resources.

My hope is that they use this opportunity to bring about a global event that all three Empires experience. Like a global earthquake, or the volcano there on Cyssor erupting mixed with the accompanying earthquakes and mayhem.

If I was a dev, or one of the storywriters, this would be a moment to shine. Make this event a one time event (that possibly alludes to other future global events) that has consequences for us all. Imagine fighting in and around Cyssor in the midst of fallout in the form of ash and soot and falling ejecta from the volcano. This stuff could reach to all the neighboring continents and affect the global weather patterns for a short time. Maybe a tsunami or two locally! Let me stop before I get too excited.

I think you are right, it could be great!

Damn it, kane, you are completely wrong  ! You really need glasses  ... Actually, what you think is Ishundar is still Searhus, the bit at the south, and the bit at the north is the Terran Rebublic Sanctuary.

Lartnev

It's not Searhus, fact. I think it's Hossin, guesswork. See my earlier post for details.

And I absolutely agree Mani, was having a dicussion in #agn the other week about that very thing and how the devs have a golden opportunity to impress its current and possible future playerbase.

I hope that one day I can say "I remember when the battle islands were put into the game, it was awesome!"

I looked at the picture after reading these posts and they didn't seem to match up so I went in game and matched the conts to what I could see on the map and here is what I got
