what do u guess think of the final plans? I find them both ugly but I hate the Think teams design. It looks like a huge ugly rip off of the ifle tower. Its just a big Iron Girder that goes into the air that won't mean anything to anyone in 50 years. I feel nothing deserves a monument like this one.
I don't know how to post pictures so heres a website that will show them

I like the look of the libskin one. I just don't see any purpose. The Think Team one lookslike it might house office buildings, but dosent look as nice and dosent make as nice of a memorial.

I prefer neither.
I would much rather see them use this valuable space, and rebuild the Twin Towers larger than they were before. I would still like to see a nice memorial below the towers, but that space shouldn't go to waste. As GW would say, that's "letting the terrorists win". I prefer the Libeskind design if I have to choose one. The Think team design looks like a giant errector(spelling?) set.

they had a lot of really cool designs before this one was for a 2100 foot building that interlocked with another and stuff.
Stupid hippy liberals got their way though and decided they wanted least amount of building most amount of monument
I agree with the people who said a memorial park would have been better. I'm kinda sadden to see some of the people who posted on that site saying they should be bigger or that America should once again have the tallest building... wtf? people died and you're worried about if America as the tallest building or not??!? Reminds me of a little kid telling his friend "My daddy can beat up your daddy."
Anyhoo i guess it will be one of those 2 but a simple, small memorial building and/or park would have been a much better idea IMO.

The Libeskind design seems more ptracticle to me, but they are both pretty uggly to me. They should have rebuilt the towers but redesign the structure so that it could surive the fall of the original 2, or at least last longer.
 I'll see the 19 hijackers in hell.

Sorry Dio, have to disagree with you here. I think the park thing is a stupid idea in that it is a defeatist memorial. I try to look at it a couple of different ways.
One is from a memorial standpoint. Personally, if I die in the biggest single attack on American soil in history I want something more obvious than some trees to be a memorial. Maybe that's greedy, but a bunch of trees don't show me that people care, it shows me that they have no imagination and no spirit.
The other ways are from the terrorist's point of view and from America's viewpoint in general. As a terrorist, if America doesn't rebuild something just as big and bold as the WTC, it tells me that they are afraid to because they think I will knock it down. It tells me that they are afraid of what I can do and that ultimately, I can will this war that I have declared because even after a year and a half, the US can't lift its spirits enough to defy me.
As an American, I see it the same way. We can't give terrorists the idea that they can dictate what we build, where we build it, or how tall we want it to be. I see no reason to show weakness before a group of people who plot in secret and don't have the courage to do anything except hide. Like it or not, I think not rebuilding something as grand as the Twin Towers is a show of weakness, and I see no reason for such a display. It's not a thing of America needs to have the tallest building in the world. It's the idea that terrorists told us we shouldn't have tall buildings because they will just knock them down and America's need to show them that we will not be dictated to by terrorists.
-- Oh yeah, I don't really like either of those designs either. :)

the WTC doesn't need to be as tall your right. Those two towers only stood at 75% capacity at the best of times. Some cool looking 70 story towers would be nice. Then at the top of each building there should be a statue and some other stuff. Needs statues at the bottom. Kinda like the Iwo Jima monument except with the fire fighters. What would be really really cool is if they could figure out exactly what air space the planes hit and they turned those floors into memorials.

I read the comments. All those poeple are huge idiots except this one:
How about neither of the above? They are both hideous, especially the Think Team design. If a memorial is desired - then build a memorial, not an eyesore. A tasteful memorial and maybe a standard skyscraper or two.

IMO the designs look idiotic..well, there are more pope who say the designs are bad. Just noting one.

Here's the problem as I see it. That memorial isn't to honor the fallen, but to console those who feel bad about still being alive. All of those people who died, died while working towards something. An honor to them would be to continue their dreams. Build the towers again, bigger, better and more asthetically pleasing.
Say they builld a park. How many people will go daily? Let's be waaaaay too optimistic. 10,000 people a day. Rebuild the towers and you have at least 40,000 people every day. Everyone of those people are going to remember Sept 11 and those who died, every time they got to work. It will reflect in their work also.
Thats a true monument, continue their work. They wouldn't have wanted us to cow down and just build a pretty park and plant some trees. That's not what they were doing.

since this doesnt pertain to me ,I wont argue with anyone,I will say that I feel ,that they should rebuild the towers and make them twice as big ,cause both those designs are a waste of money space and time ,and serve no more purpose than a plaque
:D just my 2 cents

We should build a single massive mile high tower.

Let me just say both designs are hideous, especially the think teams. My 2 1/2 yr old boy could've built a better looking tower w/ an erector set IMO. I don't think that design has the slightest chance of looking better when it's built than it looks on paper.
If they choose to build bigger and better towers i hope they put some AA guns on top :)
I just think it's ridiculous to think "We'll show those terrorists, let's spend all this time and money on making and even bigger tower, that will teach them to mess with us!!"
...
You want to show the terrorists you're not afraid? Then just find them and shut down their operation, building a 234987645mile high tower won't do crap, it's just gonna be another lump of metal put together. Just another example of how materialitis our world is...
I'll stop now before i get myself depressed lol.
Oh and before the less civil and/or more sensitive Americans here flame me i'd like to say i am NOT bashing America, i just think that ANY country who thinks making a piece of metal even bigger is somehow a victory against terrorists or anything else for that matter really needs a reality check. I mean what happends if (god forbid) another attack happends and the new WTC is destoryed, is America gonna build an even bigger buidling until people stop attacking it ?
I'm not against a new building but at least put the fear of appearing afraid and the foolish pride aside and build something respectful and meaningful, not just a new "Look our tower is so big!" building. :(
