The short answer is: it depends.
Think about what you like to do in the game, and what it takes to be effective in that role. Pilots generally cert in air cav for the Reaver, a good ground attack craft and the Mosquito, which is good at taking on aircraft and doesn't need a tech plant.
It usually is better to have more vehicles handy anyway. I would only cert in a single vehicle if I couldn't obtain a package cert.

Doesnt air cal come with a mossie?
If your a grunt go with AMS + haraser/atv/buggie. The last 3 are for kill whoring and transportation. This is ofcourse assuming that you have rexo.
Support go AMS + air support + mossie. This is gonna be my cloakers vehicle setup.
And full driver get adv hack + engy + Tank + air cal + ams + air support + buggy.

Plain MA isn't that bad if you fly alot Peace. I use only Sweeper when I am flying but when I get on the ground, I go Sweeper/Thumper or Rocklet.

You realise you need Hacking to get Adv. Hacking, don't you?

usually when someone says something like ADV Med, ADV Hacking or CE. It's common knowledge in the game that those are 5 point certs that require their lesser counter parts (medical, hacking and engineering)

Actually I don't think you can get both the Mosquito and Air Cav certifications. If you take Air Cav, Mosquito is grayed out, meaning you cannot select it.
Unless I am thinking of another thing. Which is entirely possible.
