View Full Version : Battle Stations Idea

Now that we are playing on a solar scale how about ading battle stations. Several stations spred across the system. They would be the size of a battle island or such and the entire battle would be one gigantic inside battle.
The station is broken up into sections that have to be hacked and captured. Each section would be equiped with spawn tubes so that their could be section to section battles as each side fights to gain complete control over the space station.
Fighting for corridors and such pushing threw one big structure with no outside parts. They could be connected to the other planets though lattice and once you have a link you use the hart to get there but instead of hot dropping it lets you in threw the dock that's linked to the planet below. Just some thoughts on variety and more places to fight.
If this were to be implmente,d what they would need ot do, is eliminate WG's, and make it so the only way to get form cont to cont is bia space freighter. If the enemy owns the battle station between the cont you left, and the cont you wanna go to, you have to take it over.
But using that idea would encourage mass, organized movement, which would be the coolest thing ever. Seeing a fleet of 40 or so startships moving the zerg from one planet to the next.

What was the map on the original Unreal that was in a space station? Have that on a giant scale and I'm in.

Unreal Tournament had Orbital, that was a space station :)

Its a good idea, but im a sniper so im somewhat torn :S.

Imagine how sweet some zero gravity physics or at least low gravity physics would be. I want to be able to jump really high like in UT.

And I want to be able to turn on insta-gib in PS, but it's looking unlikely :(

this would mean even more important indoor fights, the JH wil pwnzor in that sort of situation
my solution would be making the JH a common pool weapon and giving us NC a new HA weapon as replacement
that way no one complains about loosing their precious JH and i have a possibility of getting a gun i like
my 2 cents
NOTE: I am in no way implying that the jackhammer is overpowered but that it is more powerfull indoors than other heavy assult weapons.

I disagree for 2 reasons:
1) Who says there can't be really large rooms on a space station? In which case the MCG will have places where it can do well
2) Nothing supresses a corridor like a lasher (with the exception of the maelstrom but that's best used around corners) so long corridors will be the domain of the lasher.
