View Full Version : Cloakers fixed? Return to PS after CoH

Ok, I've been out of PS since the City of Heroes beta. I've enjoyed my time with CoH, but I'm starting to feel the level grind and have been contemplating a return to PS.

Here's the big thing that is stopping me, and that left a bad taste in my mouth when I quit PS:

I mostly played a TR cloaker, and was having great fun doing so. SOE delivers the update that includes the Sensor Shield and I'm drooling and ready to whack some Interlink bases. I grab my new sensor shield and scurry into the nearest interlink base for some recon and hunting on the walls. Sensor shield is a big stamina drain, so I kneel down in the base to rest. No defenders are nearby. I'm next to a wall opposite the base front door in the CY. The door opens and out runs a defender. I'm kneeling and still, so I'm just going to wait for him to run off. Instead he stops, pulls out his weapon, runs up and blasts me. Uh...:huh:? I ask him about it and he says "There was a red glow all around you". That night I quit PS and moved over to CoH.

So my question to the good people of PSU is this: Was the cloaker glow identified and fixed?

Please say yes :) If so, you won't see me ingame soon, although you might feel my repeater on the back of your neck...

Yes it was fixed a while back I beleive... might wanna get confirmation tho...

Dont be a cloaker. I did it for like 11 months and it was the most annoying profession there is.

The glow is fixed. And cloaking needs no moderation, it's more challenging than anything else in the game. The more bugs they squash, the less frustrating a 'profession' it is. They also fixed the bug that made you extremely visible at range. Welcome back.

Cloakers have gone through a few tune-ups. Empire specific visibility variances have been evened. They stay cloaked while gunning veh's (similar to running). The little cloak indicator has been "fixed" (yeah right). Oh ya, and sensor shield works AS ADVERTISED. :D

Well I only play in moderation so I wouldn't know how fun it is to play all the time :)
