I just got a brand spanking new beast of a computer (http://www.planetside-universe.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24646) and, naturally, have to re-install everything.

PlanetSide CD #2 refuses to install...Cyclic Redundancy Error.

This is undoubtedly a scheme by the TR to keep me from coming back, as their logo is on the CD.

I am resorting to splicing in PS Open Beta Disc 2 in lieu of PS Disc Two. Updates as they come. Any suggestions?

(By now it's probably out of warranty.)

It gave me a 'catstrophic error' (I swear, that's what it said) when I tried to use the Beta CD #2.

I'll just use all 3 Beta installation CDs and patch for the next 13 hours -_-

A genius, you are. Esp. considering my registry is clean...however, I did pay for three damn months not 3 days ago.

You make it sound bad to use a free trial to install the game...SOE doesnt care as long as the account is paid for. Obviously you would have no use for the Trial key.

I had this problem once, just copy the files out of the three disc's into a folder into your HD and run setup.exe from the folder and it will install PlanetSide from the folder.

Dear God, no!

It won't even get the file in question off the CD, it pulls a Gay Redundancy error.

Get the Planetside patcher from someone (Not me, I'm mean and lazy, yarr) and start it up, it'll DL the whole game. It'll take a bit, but you'll have ye game.

The "get the trial" idea worked. I now have the game. Woohoo!

Just download PS from fileplanet, and when you run it, you put in your regular station login and password. :) That's what I did to install it on my laptop while I was at work (University ISP > DSLXtreme ISP) ;)
