Hasn't been this high since Sept. 10, 2002:

http://www.msnbc.com/news/869630.asp?0cv=CA01

WASHINGTON, Feb. 7 The Justice Department increased its terrorist threat assessment level to orange or high risk on Friday, reflecting concerns among U.S. security officials that terrorists are planning a major attack as early as next week. The move came a day after the State Department warned Americans abroad of the threat of new terrorist attacks using chemical or biological weapons.

On MSNBC's bottom line, it says "NBC NEWS: Terror Attack Possible At The End Of Next Week"

They are warning that terrorists might hit "Soft Targets" such as Americans traveling abroad.

Heh, I really am not a big fan of the "warning" system. We don't how, when, where or why but someone is going to hurt you!

I would much rather there be nothing then something about terrorism personally.

Things I worry the most about, and lets just say I read a lot more then you guys can...

Malls, rail statsions, bus stops and NYC.

Water Supplies.

Those are my biggest concerns atm.

Once war kicks off in Iraq.. I would be shocked if we don't see some sort of massive attack sweep across the country.

Everyone freaks out and panics. You know what I do? I say "fuck it" and move on. Not like worrying will do anything for me anyway. :D

That's a pretty good philosophy, and that's basically what I do. It's similar to waiting for that one very large asteroid that is eventually going to hit the earth, you know it's coming but you don't know when and there's nothing you can do about it.

But there ARE things you can do people.

If you see something suspicious.. report it.. Worst that happens.. nothing.

But what if YOUR call.. stops another 9/11?

How would you feel if you saw some people that gave you a "Bad" feeling by your cities water supply.. and you did nothing about it.. then later found out (Assuming you drink bottled water) they had put some nasty chem or biotoxin in the water and killed hundred or even thousands.. that would.. I would think of killing myself,

It's very unlikely that some terrorist would stand right next to the road pooring some chemical or biological agent into a water supply where you can see him. The likelihood that a civilian would have an opportunity to prevent or witness a terrorist act is very slim. If I see some guy loading fertilizer into the back of a truck, driving a dirty-bomb through Dallas, or dumping a bottle of liquid with the skull and bones symbol on it, I will be the first person to call the police, but I would do so whether we are on orange or green. ;)

The color system is meant more for law enforcement, as the colors go up the more aware they become.

Define suspicious. What is your perception of this? You realize all people are different and come from different places and have different ideals. So what you see as suspicous may be normal activity to someone else.

Anyone remember the coldwar?

Coldwar: That person is different than us. Must be a red!! Damn Russian.. get um!

Today: That person is different than us. Must be a terrorist!! Damn terrorist... get um!

*And just for amusement*

A time long lost: She's different than us. She must be a witch! Get her!

Fuckin stupid and paranoid Americans that trust no one. You'd think we would have evolved passed this ignorance a long time ago but apparently some people have learned nothing from history and are bound to repeat it till they die.

You want to know why we are really going to Iraq? OIL! There are no weapons there and if there are Saddam WILL use them to DEFEND himself. Now don't get me wrong. I hate that freak as much as the next guy but why send an army to do the job of one sniper unless you have another agenda? After all this will be very expensive war...

You gotta be a realist in this world. You have to understand that everyone is using propaganda to forfill their own agenda and move on. I take nothing at face value. I require proof before I pass judgement.

ever read the book 1984 ;) what your sugesting is to further instill mass paranoia, into a already overly parnoid culture. If everyone was watching for strange behaveior all the time, alot more than nothing would happen
