From what I've seen in this film it looks like my 11 year old brother could watch this film and not be the least bit scared

On the other hand it's a trailer and they are probably not showing the worst of it. The action looks cool. But the violence looks pretty PG-13ish.

Although it's good to see the Aliens will be killing some predators. Won't just be predators shooting and slicing and dicing aliens up.

How could anyone had high hopes for this movie. That is like thinking Freddy v Jason was going to rival Casablanca and Citizen Kane. The only reason these movies were created is nobody in Hollywood is original any more.

I can picture the Hollywood "think tank" that brought you these movies:
#1 - We need a new movie
#2 - We've gone through all the video games and comic books
#1 - My eight year old was fighting with his friend about who would win a fight, Batman or Superman.
#2 - That's been done already (it really was - it was one of the plot lines ultimately discarded for the new superman movie).
#1 - What about Aliens v. Predator?
#2 - Well, I was thinking about doing Strawberry Shortcake but that would work too.

People have been waiting for an alien predator movie for over a decade and a half. Hell they waited a decade for the damn game. This is long time coming and its the combination of two extremely well written scifi series. With the back story for both of these from the movies and all the good storylines created in the comic books this could be a very good movie..... Assuming theyre going to go that route. Maybe those are just the few mindless fight seens between the storyline that theyre using to rake in the kiddies.

No, it's gonna blow. It's not gonna have the "scary" moments of Alien, or the "holy fucking gibbed" stuff from Predator. It's PG-fucking-13, that means alot of that stupid black screen that pops up right before some motherfucker gets speared in the face, or headpopped. :(

Nah I tend to avoid games made off of movies and comics. much like I avoid movies made off of games. Resident Evil and Mortal Combat for example.

AvP/AvP2 are very good games. I suggest you buy 'em, probably only around 9 bucks now.

Im pretty sure thats PG-13 by todays standards, so theres a chance. 8) Or this could be a shitty preliminary movie to set up the real movie! The seqaul!!!! :doh:

Same here. My friends and I saw the movie poster a few months back in the theater and we all just stopped and stared. We used to play 3-way LAN games on AvP2. It holds a soft spot in our hearts. I will still go to see it... just have to hope that the movie is scarey through good atmosphere and filmography rather than gore.

What really got to me was that music they played during those two scenes. They need to tone-UP the gore level and get some better music. I don't want any fucking Star Wars music while I'm watching the Predator smack the bajeezes out of the Alien.

How is a chestburster PG-13???Well I didn't even flinch when the alien's tail went through the predator. It honestly wasn't gross at all. I showed that clip to my 11 year old brother (very squimesh) and he said he wasn't grossed out either. Therefore it isn't worthy of an R rating. Im still hoping there is worst to be seen in the actual movie. Although with it's PG-13 rating it seems unlikely. :(

..In the original Alien movies blood would've spewed out and body spasms would've commenced. The Alien getting it's head beaten in on concrete would've cracked and stuff would've oozed out.

It'll be interesting on how they handle the story. That's it. From seeing the Predator fighting the Alien, it looks absolutly balls. They even tried to do bullet time, which was a half-arsed effort.

This film is going to suck. Bad.


EDIT: The face-off clip doesn't look really that bad. Better than the fighting one. I want a movie that shows the film from a Predators point of view, or an Aliens, with narration so I could learn more about the two races.

Hunting, as well all know(who played AVP and AVP2) was done as a right of passage, and as a sport. Aliens are greatly preffered bedcause of their strength as well as humans because of their intelligence(there aren't many intelligent creatures in the AVP universe, just humans and preds, and to a lesser extent aliens)

Now, I've never seen Predator, I just rented it and I'm watching it in a little bit, but from what I saw in AVP2 (game), the Predators aren't Arnold Sch----- (can't spell his last name) football players with cloaking devices. That thing I saw in those previews wouldn't be running along branches too well.

I'm sorry, but after the hugeass dissapointment that was Alien Ressurection, I don't really have high hopes for this, especially now that it's PG-13. The article in Sci-fi said the director was a kid when Alien came out back in the day and his dream was to direct an Alien movie. Well he got his dream, I just don't think it is going to be anyone elses dream.
