View Full Version : Outfit Bases

No, not on a cont where an outfit nabs a base, but in sanc.

What I'm thinking is adding an extra building to the Sanc that could be known as an Outfit HQ. In the building, OL and top officers could post general announcements, orders, etc.

Have Outfit Bins where people could contribute captured equipment for use by others (since your locker could be full, or you grab a weapon you cant use...but know someone else in the outfit can). Provide a great meeting place for Outfits and its allies for raids. Check where your commorades are on planet, etc.

Obviously this would have to be similar to the "virtual training room" in which you get loaded into the new area. You will obviously only load to your respective outfit (no peaking). Probally have to run off another server, but what do you think?

(Wondering if I should put this up on the OF...)

how about we have outfit towers. there are quite a few on the sanc just sitting around with no one using them. instead of having the iff lock, they have a password or something to get in.

I love that idea! I really wish it would happen but the devs are too busy working on the battle islands and merits etc.. Good idea though.

I like Red October's idea...but in order to keep people from just joining and getting a look at their outfit's infrastructure, why not put a Password on the load screen. If you don't know it you can't enter. Your Outfit leaders make the password and give it to people, so they could set individual requirnments on being able to enter. Expl: One OL decides that only people with 500 outfit points may get the password, while another decides to set it by rank, etc.

Good ideas. though. Maybe a map like part of the Outfit Room where you can see the placement of all logged members in the world. To help leaders of bigger outfits co-ordinate better.

i like that idea. A garage needs to be added in also so we can keep jacked vehicles.

Good idea. You don't need a password or any other such nonsense, since it would only allow outfit members inside. Also, maybe put an advertising sign with the outfit name on the outside. You can look at that sign and hit G to get outfit details (like a website or other recruiting message). Add a door inside, where you can enter a virtual training arena just for your outfit. The possibilities are endless.

Oh, and make it run off outfit points too, that way, only active outfits would have buildings, while inactive outfits wouldn't clutter sanctuary with unused buildings.

BTW, it wouldn't have to be tons of extra buildings, just put in a couple of buildings with lots of doors. Each room devoted to a seperate outfit.

KIA I think they made it a password so that people that are in a different outfit can enter if they are given the password (alliances and such). I think the best bet would be automatically open for any outfit members (or a rank that the outfit leader sets) and passworded entrance for anyone else.

I think Hayoo has something like this in development.

This would work pretty well as a hangar for my air cruisers.

i will really need a jacked vehicle garage badly soon, hope they'd consider that part as well cause everyone's gonna want to save the hard earned grand thefted bfr's. as for locks, maybe set it at a certain rank on outfit options so when someone earns a promotion, it would mean more to them than a name.

Will BFR's be able to be hacked?

This would work pretty well as a hangar for my air cruisers. That gets me thinking, it would be pretty cool if large outfits could buy persistant air cruser flying base typed stuff. :D

BTW, it wouldn't have to be tons of extra buildings, just put in a couple of buildings with lots of doors. Each room devoted to a seperate outfit.

I like that. Could even throw in an alliance system. Let's say, each building has 10-15 rooms. Well, a group of outfits get together and form a TRUE alliance, we'll simply call it TR Alliance Alpha. Now, the head outfit of the alliance has to "purchace" the building for, say 5000 outfit points, and each sub-outfit has to pay an addition 5000 for their respective rooms and alliance status. Future costs of the alliance and HQ will not be as costy, but like 150 points a month from each outfit.

Now, as far as the HQ it's self, It should have an "alliance seal" with the name of the alliance for all to recognise, along with the outfits seals/names that belong to the alliance somewhere near the front door. Im picturing a main hall/briefing room big enough for outfit/alliance meetings and such with adjoining, outfit specific rooms. Having one main door with no locks (but can be locked during outfit meetings) on it so potential recruits can visit the main hall and check things out. Each outfit specific door will be locked to outfitmembers and whom ever the OL decides and have that outfits seal, along with the name. To the side of the door have a terminal similar to a cert term where people can apply for the outfit and get any information they may need (website, roster, leader and officers, mission statement...)

I also think it'd be cool to have a few spawn tubes where the alliance members spawn when they recall or launch the game, with cert terms, equip terms, VR training teleporter, all the goodies. Of course these would be in the main room, off to the side. Hell, these could even replace the current spawn buildings in the sanc (or course having 1-2 non alliance buildings in each villa for those without outfits). It could lead to more organization and coordination within and between outits.

devs already said as far as they know they will never be adding a vehicle garage to the game

Think of the lag :(

Thats why I suggested it should run off another server. You just enter it from sanc. Then again, if the numbers aren't that huge, it could possibly run off the same server.

I love the idea of Outfit Points being used to "purchase" add on's. An outfit could start off with a small one room tower with a spawn tube, equip, cert and implant term. As it succeeds, they can purchase a command room (limited message board w/ functions to customize which rank one can have to view which orders - helps w/ spies), equipment bins (have a rank on which you can pull stuff out), garage's (if the devs can be convinced), your own vech terms, etc.

The size of a building can also be bought w/ outfit points. Thus huge outfits who gain points primarily due to troop numbers will have some cramped buildings...maybe even lock outs as the buldings "fire marshal" may not allow any more in. Really would suck during some big meetings. But smaller outfits who have a high rate of outfit points will have some plushy surroundings.

Should some outfits join an Alliance, then you can instead have an Alliance Command Building in which they pool outfit points. In the Building you can have specific rooms for specific outfits, but share spawn tubes, terms, a grand hall meeting room, message center, etc.

I think this would really create some organization and make some outfits/alliances prestigious (and some look rather grungy) but still allow for those who want to start building from the ground up.

So...how often do the Dev's or Hayoo troll these forums?

Do you know how big a meeting hall would have to be for my alliance? it would have to be about the size of a HART building's TOTAL interior sq ft. assuming about one third of the ppl show up..... WOWZA! can you say PA system?
