View Full Version : Orbital platforms return?

Troops have been dispatched to the Orbital Platform and a HART shuttle has been positioned in continuous orbit, in case planetary upheavals reach a point where ground assets are no longer viable. Be aware that Command has been relocated from the Sanctuary to the Platform to avoid the continued ground phenomenon.

I for one would love to see them in the game :)

I'm pretty sure they're still figurative at this point. The inital meeting for the TR Section commanders was on the orbital platform.

Maybe another possible surprise, when the planet goes boom, sanctuaries are destroyed, and were stuck using orbital platforms. There is a lot of sneaky things sony isnt letting us know about. This may be one of them. Why would we want to relocat the sanc to another planet anyways?

I remember the Devs saying that they created the orbital stations during beta (before it was public) but removed it because it served no purpose. (Why take the HART up, and then transfer into a droppod when it can all be done in one smooth action?) I also think I remember them saying a while back that they may be bringing it back...
That would own.

it sounds more logical, why the hart have to fly to orbit every 5 minutes when you could more easily already be in orbit. sweet new sanc, would be great!

No patch today? I guess it'll be this afternoon?
Nevermind, I'm blind.

Well....The Sanctuaries were still there on test, but that doesn't mean the HART can't take you to an orbital station, and from there you pick the continent and board another HART to get you there.

Rumors of increased volcanic activity on Searhus and in Byblos are false. There have been no tectonic upheavals, despite the density fluctuations of the planet. Surface gravity has still been unaffected by the density changes, so we have some hope that the core changes are not destructive in nature. We are beginning to believe that if the Ancients started this process somehow (whether actively or through an automated system), it may not be a defensive mechanism at all. Instead, we may be on the verge of a great discovery on the order of when the Geowarps first appeared.
Wonder what that one is about.
Edit: It's 10:30 AM EST and still NO DAMN ORBITAL PLATFORMS!

Probably the whole semi-sentient AI thing within the planet that leads up to the BFRs.

I'm willing to bet it's more along the lines of Auraxis coming out of "shutdown mode" and what Auraxis is really for etc.

It would make me so happy if they actually flooded the planet with Vanu aliens and the 3 empires actually had to (for one day) fight together to beat back the hordes. Then we can get back to normal programming.
for any dev who pulled this one on us IF he did
will get a million from me
thats one of the main things i wanted to see back
that and finally see the sanctuary strikes

I think they are just saying that as part of the storyline. I wouldn't be surprised if it was in though.

Imagine the lag!

Wow, now that would be a great idea Madcow. It would make me happy too. What if instead of the Vanu race coming back, we had the original Terrans come back and attempt to wipe us all out?

That wouldnt have to be AI. They could do it with newcomers! And a new game that they use to jump into this one. But you ahve to buy it! ;) Then you can "Join the terrans of earth on the crusade to take back Auraxis!!!"
It would be the fourth "empire" and it would be up to the curents ones wether to fight or not. And up to the current Terrans wether they switch to these by buying the game or by some ingame switch to wether you are allied with the new terrains or against them for the "innitial statements" made on their return or something.
The new Terrans could have newer beter EQ than the currents ones since they obviously could ahve been developing it get here if they got here by means other than the Wormhole.
