So, I found this tweak. I decided what the hell, so now my studder is gone in planetside. Less cache, less swapping, more cpu for other shit.
article :
Here are a couple of performance tweaks for users who have more than 512Mb RAM.
Launch Folder Windows in a separate Process:
- Open My Computer -> Tools -> Folder Options
- Check the box "Launch folder windows in a separate process"
Force Windows Core to Memory:
- Open Start -> Run and type "Regedit"
- Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Control\ Session Manager\ Memory Management"
- Modify "DisablePagingExecutive" to "1"
- Reboot will be needed to take effect.
Got it from this page http://v2.tlab404.com/articles/top10.asp
Also, if you have xp pro, check this link out, it will make your interweb go 20% faster:

"1.DisablePagingExecutive -double click it and in the decimal put a 1 - this allows XP to keep data in memory now instead of paging sections of ram to harddrive yeilds faster performance."
also this was suggested in one of those articles as well:
""2.LargeSystemCache- double click it and change the decimal to 1 -this allows XP Kernal to Run in memory improves system performance alot"

Meh, tried that, didn't notice anything. Load the Sanctuary, hit W to move...
Planetside Freezes.
I reboot five times, and it freezes each time.
Any idea why? I got rid of the "tweaks" and it works fine now...

The key word being, you need more then 512 ram for it to work...

Killed XP on startup after reboot so I changed it back. The other two settings are still in place and the improvement remains the same :)
Wait, do you set the DisableWhateverExecutive thing to hexademical or decimal?

I think I set it as Hexadecimal.

Question: Does this effect the computer itself, or just Planetside?
and Which one (link) should I use to get rid of stutter?
The reason for me asking is that I've been having stutter in a lot of my games. In Counter Strike, it would stutter a little. In Planetside the stutter becomes more noticable, in Doom 3 the stutter makes the game near impossible to play.

The computer itself.
Try one at a time.

yeah, i tried that second step too, and it locked my vid card settings into 16 colors and 640x480, so I had to turn it off. But the first change seems to work fine. I don't normally get much stutter tho so its hard to tell if its given me any improvement.
edit- and all the credit goes to our good friend gohan here, hes the one that found this tweak. Funny, I've never seen it anywhere else too, and I read a LOT of tweak stuff.

Wait, do you set the DisableWhateverExecutive thing to hexademical or decimal?Ah, there is no difference between hex 1 and decimal 1 - decimal 0-9 and hex 0-9 are exactly the same - the difference comes at decimal 10+ as decimal 10 is of course 10, and hex "10" is A, hex "11" is B, etc.. up to hex "15" which is F, the last single digit in hex. The next number in hex (10) is actually decimal 16.
Decimal contain 10 single digits - 0-9 - after 9, the next column increments and the original column goes back to 0 and starts over (...7,8,9, 10,11,12,13...). Hexidecimal has 16 single digits, 0-F (0-9 and 6 new single digits A-F). Same rule applies, after the last digit (F), the next column increments and the original column goes back to 0 and starts over (...D,E,F, 10,11,12,13...). Class dismissed. :p :D
