i was lookin at the old alpha and beta screenies..those look really cool...like the NC's old rifle and the TREES! the graphics seem alot better..maybe they should bring back sum of the old stuff :) like the towers...those r awesome

Yeah..the towers looked really detailed. I wish they could've made them Empire specific, and THEN shift to the Empire that captured it. Or not, and just stick a flag there...either way they looked huge.

I loved them, And you can always turn down the graphics. I loved how, in beta, you could just take a walk through a continent, and it would be like taking a stroll.

I remember a few pics of some old TR, had a few modified Cyclers, and one of them soldiers had a weapon VERY similar to the ever-so-popular AK I swear. I still wish ic ould have made it to the final version.

It looks as though they made Planetside then nerfed it graphics wise but then again I'm sure that many PCs couldn't handle the graphics in the "old" Planetside.

Back in the day, don't know if anyone remembers, but Planetside was actually going to be about the players playing as mercenaries for the three sides, buying vehicles and getting certs and assembling a merc team to take on some mission for the TR or whatever. Weird how much it changed.

Yeah, I think the empires were going to be more traditional ones, like being just big companies instead of actual splinter groups. Needless to say the storyline changed a lot also. The old concept was pretty cool, though the current one is becoming more interesting itself.
