Well, before the whole blowing up of Auraxis and the creation of battle islands... Auraxis was a planet right? And each empire had satellites orbiting this planet for use of orbital strikes, HART's, etc. Now im curious as to how the sanctuary locations were so secret considering that they were continents on the planet and probably easily viewable from space. Each empire had to notice that there were two continents that were unidentified and reasoned that they were other empire's sanctuaries. If this has been brought up before just send a link and i will go away. I was just wondering.

the enemies justs couldnt attack them, mabye there was some sort of defense system up... perhaps the three continents were protected by vanu systems...???

On the map they saw them and thought.. hrmm.. nah... thats a boring continent, has no bases. And thus left them alone.
Or, Try flying into one of the enemy warpgates (I did the first time round they existed). Shablam.

"The Vanu (in their unimanigable arrogance) were looking for ways to win the war, a way to use the technology of the Warpgates to break through the orbital energy-shielding that protected the other empires' Sanctuaries, so that they could wipe us all out at the source... so they built a device that would attach to all the Warpgates on the closest continent to their own Sanctuary, Oshur. These devices would link the Warpgates together, allowing them to create a corridor that could punch through a Sanctuary's energy-shield.
Since the Warpgates were designed by the Ancients to deconstruct matter and energy and then reconstitute its original form somewhere else, its awesome power would suit their desires. Unfotunately, they weren't prepared for what would happen if something went wrong, and it did.
As the meteorites that have currently been bombariding Auraxis hit the planet, the seismic distubances caused the devices to engage prematurely before they had been properly calibrated, so the surge of energy from the Warpgates swallowed the planet itself into the corridor, finally emerging on the other side of the galaxy. But... it is also had a secondary effect. When the planet re-emerged it caused an overload in the Warpgates, reconstituting the entire world into separate components, creating this new star system. At the time, all three empires on Oshur had control bases of their own which connected to an allied world, so when the devices overloaded, the energy release fractured the continent, tearing it apart...
If you compare the shapes and masses from such a burst, you realise what happened. The result of this surge reconstituted the matter into the different Battle Islands now present in the new Warpgate Network!
The only thing is now, a problem remains. Any distortion of energy that large in galaxy would be readily detectable. So one question stands:
Who will reach Auraxis first? The rescue fleet of the Terran Republic, assisting their comrades who were cut off when the wormhole collapsed... or the Ancients themselves, taking back what is rightfully theirs?"
While we're on the subject, though, we've only seen what happened above ground... did anyone record what happenend in the caverns? Did any alien devices pop out for this process to work or not?
i havent read it all, but it comes from here http://www.planetside-universe.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24896

The Empires figured out a way to lock the warpgates on their sanctuaries so other empires couldn't use them, and since aircraft couldn't fly from Continent to continent without losing power, there was no way to attack them. OSes wont work because you have to be within range of you rtarget.

Sure, all players that have CC. You have to 'attune' yourself to the BFRs in the caverns. From the devchat down in florida, you have to hack 10 bases down in the caverns themselves to get a key.
Otherwise, you'll get to admire them when they stomp on you.

YOU can't hack it if YOU don't have CC. And I don't think they can be hacked anyway. Who'd wanna leave that beast once they got in it anyway? not me.

^You can hack it. Of course, the question is who'd leave it unattended, but if you managed to kill the driver with a radiator...
I wonder if that would work...

Gohan said 2 hours, and yes they can be hacked be an adv hacker who has CC. If I got a BFR, I would NOT get out no matter what. I tell ya what though as a cloaker, hacking a BFR would be an awesome accomplishment.

Indeed.
You should get a "Hacked a BFR while avoiding getting squished." Merit Commendation :D.
