trig's accounts won't log into the OF, even though they work on the rest of the station stuff.

my question to SOE online tech support went something like this:

i can't log onto the planetside official forums, but i can log into everything else on the station website without any trouble. problem occurs regardless of browser or computer, no error messages.


and then begins the fun:

angela cimato: the popup login window dosplays properly, i enter the info, and it closes again
angela cimato: when the main page refreshes, it just isn't logged in
angela cimato: (the login link stays)
angela cimato: if i try to reply to a post, it prompts me to log in twice, then says the post i wanted to reply to has been deleted

angela cimato: affirmative, a windows 2003 machine is the router
angela cimato: however, other computers on this network can log in without any trouble
CSR Chris R.: Is that operating system you are using
angela cimato: and i can log in to the forums with another station account on this computer
angela cimato: negative, this is a winxp machine
CSR Chris R.: Okay
CSR Chris R.: Okay open Internet explorer and go to the tools and click on Internet options delete all your cookies, temporary Internet files and click on the privacy tab and turn the security down to low
angela cimato: done, same problem with accout 'triggar'
angela cimato: i can still log in with my friend's account 'martyr' with the same browser on this machine
CSR Chris R.: Okay let me try it
CSR Chris R.: What is the login name?
angela cimato: triggar
CSR Chris R.: Do I have permission to change the password
angela cimato: affirmative

CSR Chris R.: It is telling me that station name or password is invalid

angela cimato: i'm not sure what the fan club is, and fairly confident that i haven't registered with it, as i haven't been able to find any good links to it

so, i signed her up for the "fan club" but it isn't sending the confirmation email.

anyway, yeah.

Heh... SOE tech support is one of the more notoriously sucky tech support systems.

SOE Online support sucks. They're unprofessional. VERY unprofessional. Last time I tried to get support, I got nearly the same thing, and when I finally got a CSR, he kept crashing.

It doesn't hurt to speak perfect english either.

hehe. i should note that i was impersonating triggar for this session, since she was whoring irc & the forums from my computer at the time and couldn't be bothered with tech trouble. can't say i blame her.
