i remember before launch there was a interview with a dev and he was talking about how they were planning on eventually adding aqua vehicals like boats and stuff what happened to them. i think it would be cool to have bases in the ocean or be able to take a ship down the rivers (oh wait there arent any and if there is not enough to make notice of)

by "eventually" they usually mean within the next ten years. dont expect to see them soon.

true. they've been put off in favor of land vehicles which provide access to all the already-avaliable facilities, instead of creating an entirely new set of marine facilites

I would love some aquatic vehicles but alas...

Sporky has hinted a couple of times of a naval expansion.... and PS has still got some years left :)

The Battle Islands and BFR's are practically an expansion in itself. Not surprised though, they needed to do something that would get the bad taste that a lot of people had in thier mouths from Core Combat. My guess is, after they take a little reprieve from the recent work, they'll probally be working on either Naval or Space Expansion. With the Conts now seperated into planets...you can have naval and space warfare a little more easily.

True, it would make it easier to have a space expansion, but it makes a naval expansion almost impossible, not counting the Battle islands

I'm thinking along the lines of some deep sea fishing...I mean fighting. After a certain point, vech's go link dead and you crash into the sea...instead how about poping up on the other side of map? Small Bases that are out beyond the view of land similar to oil rigs. Or even underwater bases....hmmmmm.....underwater vechicles....submarines...I'd probally recert a few things....

How can we have water battles if our planets is in space and they're not even connected to 1 planet?

I'm guessing you've never seen the shorelines to your continents. Just because there's no longer a big fucking ocean to separate continents doesn't mean you still can't get wet.

Well... the main reason we'd want aqua shits to fucking float to another continent.

Who the fuck fights on the shorelines anyway.... mostly only planes goes there for safely air battles. Deliverer, mags... whoopy fucking doo.... noobs rarely brings out armors. Then whats the point of having Aqua ? It wont even go into base.

Currently? Yes. Although there are islands that you can fly out to, on the coast. But if they add a naval expansion, hopefully there'd be subsurface bases and platform-type bases.

I've had plenty of shoreline battles. They're a great place to catch people who think they're safely driving somewhere. There are also plenty of coastal roads along almost every continent, if not all of them. Cyssor also has a huge river cutting through it, and Amerish and Hossin have a few wet locations where there are bases very close to the water.

Look at extinction...There are rivers and ramps to land from rivers everywhere
Currently only mags threshers and delis can go on them ... Chew on that NC and TR!

Im gunna play PS now thank you very much

Yeah because only the VS have Deliverers.

Aircraft Carriers and battleships with gun batteries would give two reasons to fight on water.

They could have two types of Bases out in the water, an Oil Rig base, which would work like an AMP station, and a "heavy" ship base where all the ships are manufactured. That would have some incentive to go out and fight.

Like a Dropship Center. But instead of Galaxies, it produces a VTOL carrier (essentially a giant landing pad for Mosquitos, Reavers, and Liberators).

The continents are all on planets. the continents are about one quarter the size of these planets. The rest of these planets are SUBMERGED in WATER....in other word the continents are SURROUNDED by WATER, yes WATER....thus is a naval expansion feasable...as are new continents.

notice the worlds don't rotate, they only show you the one contients, so...what's on the other side of that planet? maybe another continent? or two? possible, very possible. The Bending Video hinted as much. We may yet see boats patrol our waters. And fleets of space craft protecting our worlds from in-bound HARTs and enemy ships. Ah, yes, the numerous doors opened thanks to the Bending.

i would love to see a max in a space suit lol. yeah but the aquatic expansion would be a good idea you can have a ship ams like a battle ship that is huge or the battle ship which would go around the cont slowly could act like a base and you could hack it. the land vehicals could get on via a few docks along the coast that it stops at for 15 minute intervals.

You see the map? They're in a fucking space. Planet by Planet. Oshur is a planet with 4 island. Amerish is a planet with 1 continent. Earth used to have 1 continent but it took billion years to seperate into 7 continents.

Super_Ryu7
2004-08-31, 09:45 PM
well in the video actually it said that the Planets were reshaped to fit the continents in to the surface of the planets like the conts had always been there. the conts arent there own planets.

And what makes an island an island?

The fact that it's SURROUNDED BY FUCKING WATER. Goddamn, you're fucking dense.

Do we have a base on water? No.... Did we have battles on water? No..... Did any vechiles follow magriders or deliverers on water? No... How often you see mag and deli fight on water? Rarely...

Is there a point to this? What does that have to do with a naval expansion being impossible now because we supposedly don't have water?

Did we have battles on water? No.....
Once again... is there a point to this? But you're wrong. We have had battles on the water. My outfit had a "Deliverer night" where we ran five Deliverers out to sea to loop around to a base. We got aggressed by two Magriders and some aircraft.

Did any vechiles follow magriders or deliverers on water? No...
See my last two statements.

How often you see mag and deli fight on water? Rarely...
Uh-huh... and this has what to do with the fact that because we're now all fighting on different planets that there is no water nor is there a need for aquatic expansion?

Because obviously if they were going to put something in the game of that magnitude, they'd add a place to get them and/or use them.

IT'S A FRIGGIN PLANET!

The Bending Video states, and I QUOTE:
"The continents were just...there...it was as if the planets shifted so that the continents seemed like they were always there..."

What does this mean" Let me tell you: It COULD mean that there were nine TOTALLY random planets that had NO LANDMASSES what so ever, but plenty of water. ND H=THEY JUST happened to SUDDENLY sprout these new continents after the bending/
OR
That these worlds looked like our own, but when the new continent came all the other contients on that world were moved over, SHIFTED, but in such a way as to suggest that they (the continents) were always there (the planets).

AND your statement about how it took our (RL) planet billions of years to break up it's mega continent into the seven we presantly have is
1) unfounded (no proof of it, just common theory by a bunch of whack-job scientist trying to prove their remedial exhistance) AND
2) stupid... it took one hour to break oshur into 4 islands.....

ACE cant spawn them, only mines, boomer, motion sensor, and turrets.

Hate to break it to you. But earth is a planet. Earth has oceans. All of the continents are still surrounded by water. Just because its "planet amerish" dosent mean that theres not mean that water around the other side of it.
