Ummm the NC MAX can use the shield implant too and activate it when the energy on the special ability energy runs out and then use the implant while the special ability energy recharges and so on and so forth so you can eat me.

And I think that the maxe's will all be something to have a bit of fear of... Sure, the NC max may not have a jump, or have a faster fire mode, but if I can have 2X or 3X the shield life, who needs em? ( Charge into battle using 1 shield, switch to the other shield, let the 1 u just used recover, switch again, and have caused MAJOR dmg b4 they can be taken out. (rotating shields is a very very cool thing, you charge 1 when the other is on, so faster time to get both shields again) They have huge guns, and good health already. You don�t want something with huge guns (esp short range guns) to be able to take several shots at you. I would rather be invincible for a long time, than jump, or fire faster thanks =P

Also, you dont need an implant to have shields! You can have some of the others as well!) =P

here is another plan too, use them as shock troops, line them all up in front of your troops, turn their shields on, and walk right up to the enemy base when the only thing they can hit is the only thing that cant be hurt... Also, what if you Para-drop them in? you cant hurt them coming done, or for a bit running around. I don�t care how good a shot you are, or what gun you have. If you cant hurt it, and it can hurt you, you get hurt. I can see a set of TR max dig in and fire, only to see that they are doing nothing lol, or a set of vanu ones jump over the walls onto a set of nc ones that dont even get their paint scratched fighting them =P

an important thing to remember is the nc max can use a shield implant too. so heres the senerio...
tr max turns on shield and so does nc max.
tr max's shield runs out and so does nc max.
tr max plants down and blasts away at nc max BUT!!!
nc max turns on other shield, is imortal in the eyes of the tr max
then procedes to blow the crap out of the tr max

Deadlock, let me guess, you are going NC.

There are sooo many variables, you cannot say that 1 unit will win over the other with the reasons you've come up with. It's going to be a shock to your systems when your godly units all of a sudden die within a few seconds of being on the battlefield.

I see the Vanu max as being the king of turret hit and run/ surprise/ infiltration. They have mobility on their side, and are still very tough. Jumping into bases can cause a lot of problems.

The TR one looks like the best one for slow and steady advances through the field (dig in, shoot stuff, move, repeat) ((esp if you have 1/2 move when 1/2 fire, and go up in alternating lines, that could be vary hard to stop))

I see the NC max as being the one that runs into battle head on. The shields (at least how I see them) are more about getting up close where the NC have the better firepower. Shotguns are death up close, and the shields will let you get there to use them. I see them as being good fore breaking their line, and as shock troops.

The Max�s will be death. I do not see any of them being truly superior over 1 another.

The question I want to know is, Where's the proof that the shield inplant can be used while in a MAX suit? That's the whole thing about the NC max having a shield is because of the low rof, the TR have that anchor ability, and the VS have the jumpjets. Now if all the suits could use the implant shield then what the hell is so special about the NC max having a shield? I would like to see the proof that you can use the shield implants while using a max. If some one could link me to some "actual" proof from the devs I would greatly appreciate it.

Where does it say the two shields are the same, or even similar?

With the huge penalty (50% fire rate) for the NC shield, I would very much guess it is far more powerful then the implant one. Maybe with the shield up it blocks 95% of the incoming fire, and maybe the implant just absorbs 25% of the damage. You really have no clue the on how they relate, and I doubt the NC MAX unique ability isn't unique.

Personal shield = Toyota Pickup. It absorbs a few hits and might make the difference between life and death.

It's a better shield.

It's unique to the NC MAX.

It could be considered bland, as there is a similair implant.

But they are still nowhere near the a swap for each other. They even have different art. :P

They said that the shield implant blocks damage with stamina on a 1 point of stamina for each point of damage blocked ratio, and I can tell from screens that people only have 100 stamina and 100 life. Now, making certain assumptions about the way the game works, we can guess that the shield implant is only good if you're not being shot by a really heavy weapon that will drain your stamina in 2 seconds flat. NC shield, however, has been said to be based on a seperate charge and blocks everything (I THINK that's what they said, I don't know for sure if it blocks EVERYTHING). So NC MAX has frontal invulnerability for a certain amount of TIME, everyone else can only, AT THE MOST, get a second lifebar worth of hits in with the shield implant before they run out of stamina and can't do anything (I think that's what stamina loss does, might only affect movement though). So you can see why the NC shield would be 100% better. Still not as cool as a Vanu MAX though. :D

Edit: I looked it up, and it just says that it can take an "amazing" amount of punishment. So I guess it's not invulnerability, but when you consider that the NC can use both shields its still pretty uber.

I'm not sure about that, I think I heard somewhere that they could be used at the same time...doesn't matter though, a smart person would want to spread their shields out over the most amount of time to maximize the effect anyway.

I can see times when you would want to use both, say you were charging into a line, trying to break them. You knew you would die, etc. Thus If you couldnt get hurt (max shield + other = very safe im sure) you could prob reach almost anywhere you wanted to go. Of how about when you are guarding the last 15-20 secs of a hack and enemies are pooring in? I would want to stay and live out that last few seconds...


But your right, most of the time I see them as being used 1 after the other. Jsut works better that way....
