So I have a little problem. Martyr's birthday is coming up soon - on September 22nd. I've been planning since about July to get him a set of cordless power tools for his birthday. After researching different brands and different packages from different stores, I found this:

Now, here's the problem.

Tonight, John's mom took him shopping for his birthday. He came back with - you guessed it - cordless power tools. A cordless circular saw and a cordless power drill.

Now I obviously can't get him the kit I was planning on getting him, so I'm stuck with exactly two weeks to find something cool to get him for his birthday. Clothes are lame and I can't afford an LCD monitor for him.

You guys have any serious suggestions for what I can get him? I have about $200 that I can spend, but I'd be willing to spend more if I found something l33t (like that power tool set :( ).

Don't worry about him seeing the suggestions. I won't actually say if I'm getting him anything that you guys have suggested, so it should still be a small surprise to him.

Coming from a mechanic, For hand tools Snap-on good quality equipment that lasts forever. I've been working in a shop for 10 years and I think I've seen Snap-on tools actually snap 3 times. For power tools if your going for decent but not the best Mikita. if your going for high quality long life, Dewalt Expensive sure but they last forever.

EDIT:now that I've read the whole post. do some add-ons. BUT take it up a step.

i have a huge craftsman socket set from christmas, and my mom got me a dewalt cordless drill/driver and a skilsaw circular tonight.

problem with LCDs, is, obviously, cost. they'll replace my current sun monitors, so i have high demands for any LCD i end up with:

In Florida and every other state, you have the right to conceal certain types of weapons, if you've taken the required training course and have received your permit to conceal weapons.

However, the permit to conceal does not allow you to conceal a weapon in places such as schools, universities, post offices, ball games, et cetera.

Having a concealed weapons permit also does not allow you to shoot someone who is, say, stealing your purse. There are very specific instances in which you can use your weapon against someone. Forcible felonies are one that I can tell you off the top of my head.

EDIT: It is illegal to wear a weapon in plain sight outside of your own home. If you have a permit to conceal, the weapon can never be seen, ever.

ohio is the only state i know of that doesnt allow any concealed weapons.

florida doesn't allow open carry, you can't even let your concealed print on your clothing or you'll get owned. (one exception.)

you can do whatever you want in texas.

Assault weapons ban expires nationwide on Sept. 14th- however it only restricts cosmetic changes to guns: you still can't own full-autos.

This just points to the lunacy of the law in the first place:

An "assault rifle" is defined, by law, as anything with a protruding magazine and two of the following:

- Muzzle brake
- Bayonet lug
- Pistol grip
- Grenade launcher

etc. Those may not be all of them, don't go to court over that info.

Anyway, it hasn't reduced crime, because:

A. It doesn't matter if you get shot with an AR-15 that has a bayonet lug or doesn't.

B. A vast majority of criminals (i.e the ghetto thugs) prefer small, concealable pistols.

Full-auto weaponry (Class III) still requires a Class III license. To get one you need a police chief signature (hard as hell to get, especially if you live in the city) or you need to own a corporation and list it as an investment. Class II weaponry isn't as restricted.

I don't know if Texas is going to unrestrict the full-auto ban, that's very unlikely. You're probably thinking of the Assault Weapon Ban...which only bans guns that look mean.
