So me and Jenny are going to check out an apartment this weekend, this apartment has two bedrooms. Of course (if we get it) bedroom number 2 will be converted into a makeshift command center for all our computer shit.

My question is, who here has an entire room dedicated to only their computer/gaming stuff?

I do. And it's a mess. Was going to be a second living room when my father built it. But I stole it.

I used to... till I had no more space and had to turn the said room into storage and guest room (the third one is my co-loc).

But if you can spare the space it's a good idea :).

Hamma you know in a year or two you're just going to have to clear out the room to turn it into a nursery/baby room. ;) :D

Negative on that Ivan.

Oh, and the rules are that this room may not contain a bed. It must be seperate from your sleeping quarters :p

I do

Although I share it with my Wife and her desk.

Once we move back into our house I'll get the entire basement to set up as the SUPER computer room it'll rock!

Having a room for nothing but computers is awesome. I had an "office" when i lived with my dad. And i move in with my Grandma (2-3 days from now), and i'll also have an office with a patio over looking 200+ acres with an ocean view (pics to come).

The best way to do it is to have computers seperate from living quarters. Trust me, the CRT monitor and computer in this very small room i'm in now generates a ridiculous amount of heat :(

The room which has my computer in is dedicated to all my random stuff. It has my guitars in, a cupboard full of CDs, and various magazines strewn all over the floor.

Oh Martyr and I are well aware of that. That's why we put our computer rack in our closet!

We don't have a LAN-specific room now, but we've already included it in the blueprints for when we build a house. No windows, it's own air conditioner, and the kind of tiles you have to suction-cup into place! :p

My bed room opens into my command center. It contains my stereo, TV with X box, back up TV for Video out, both computers and a love seat infront of the TV. I also have a floor fan and a closet. My game collection resides in a bed stand type deal next to my desk.

I am like kudzu. I have planted in the corner of our family room (converted two-car garage) and I am slowly entangling the rest of the room. Soon, I shall own the whole room and force all others out!

Hehe Mani, when my father built this room it was suppost to be a living room. Right when it was finnished I promtly moved one computer, then an other, then a TV and consoles. And now it's mine!

You'd get them a lot sooner if you'd accept one that was less than 20 inches, ya spoiled arse!

where at and how much?

Im having a bitch of a time trying to find a place up there when Im stuck in this shit hole.

On subject though, Im convertin half the basement into my computer lair. Started building a desk, set up so I can build a nice little farm. My only worry is how warm it will get in that small space with so much running in there at once.

Invest in a nice AC unit to keep that shit cool. And an awesome airlock to keep dust out.

I've got my own computer room, it owns. Used to be set up in the living room, that sucked.

Roughly half of my rec room is my designated command centre. With my system, Black's system and all the other peripherals, it needed the space! Now, all I need is to move the fridge, nuker, and a toilet in there, I'd be all set ;) considering I spend most of my time in this space and usually crash on the couch when I'm not "computing"....

I too have a room dedicated to my computing command center. The house's air conditioning can be adjusted from room to room, so I can keep the command center a good five or so degrees cooler from the rest of the house.

My question is, who here has an entire room dedicated to only their computer/gaming stuff?I've got a corner room in our basement that houses my CC .. only thing it hasn't got is a frdge or bathroom. Temp is always cool too.

My brother-in-law used one of their spare bedrooms for his CC. His setup is much better though .. straight out the door is his bedroom, turn right to the kitchen and u-turn out the door to the bathroom. He plays EQ and my sister does the bills in there or on her laptop sitting in the living room on the other end of the house.

Good luck with the apartment search .. hope you find what ya want.
