Suppose I'll end up getting a crappy late release then, even though we have a CA studio here.

I want a total war game in a more modern concept(1800-2000 perhaps)

Yeah but they'd have to write a completely new engine. The TW one isn't meant for ranged combat.

But combat has evolved so much since the era that Rome: Total War takes place in. Modern Combat doesn't evolve large scale battles like that anymore. Modern Combat is more small scale and is more concentrated on precise movements and surgical strikes.

And they still use guns.

Napoleon: Total War would be an interesting possibility.

The mod sounds as if it were fun.

Actually, on second thought, I can see some validity.

The engine would need a total revamp, but any era of war after 1910 would be impossible to have a Total War series on.

if anything, i think it would be awesome for there to be a battletech mod, whoever did it would have to write some new AI, same with infantry, make em spread out, scattered, and when they go to fight with another unit, break down into platoon/ squad formations.
