I ran it where I usually run games. 1024x768 32, no AA.

When it finished, I noticed my cpu was at 80 degrees c. I wonder if thats normal for am AMD 64 3200+? It idles around 60.

80 degrees sounds a little too hot, but do the 64's come with a fan and heatsink?
I'll post mine when I do an upgrade next week.

Thats no good right there. You may want to clear your CMOS, and reseat your heatink, and try some different software to check those temps.

My 3DMark03 is 5,977
My Aquamark3 is 45,321
and my 3DMark01 is 20,704, as shown below.

To be honest, 3DMark01 isn't really the best indicator of a modern computer. It doesn't test some of the newer effects and abilities of DirectX 9, and DX9 capable cards (like pixel shader 2). I'd like to see some other people's 3DMark03 and Aquamark3 scores. The scores achieved above were accomplished using the OC and components below in my sig. I have yet to see if I can push it even further. :)
edit- no way your CPU is at 80 degrees C. Its not possible. I have the same CPU and I know for a fact that its limits are 70 degrees C (as stated in the AMD white papers) and that it usually crashes your system at around 65 C or so, much less complete 3DMark. Don't bother to try resetting your heatsink, its a BIOS error. I've heard of quite a number of people getting absurdly high CPU temps and it was fixed when they flashed their BIOS to the latest version.
My CPU never went above 60 degrees C under load when I was running it on a stock heatsink, even with it OCed. With my current new heatsink (PIPE101 with a UFO #2 fan on top), OCed and under load (such as when running 3DMark03 CPU test) I've never seen it get above 43 degrees C. :D
edit2- SDM, just realized you also had a 6800, and you stated already that you have the same CPU as me. Damn man, you should be getting higher scores than mine... even without an OC. Hmmm. Something's up...

nah those cards are preaty CPU limited in that test, and Electro yours is faster hence the higher score.
You guys need to run 03 and Aquamark3

3dMark03 isn't a good indicator of performance with all the driver cheating shenanigens that's happened :(
Aquamark 3 would be better.

Frag has a good point. Damn cheating video card companies. I like Aquamark because the test completes quickly :p

no more of that
BIOS flashed....
New hardware monitor installed...
Heatsink re-seated...
Temp - 61c idle.
Ok, ran Aquamark3:
1024x768x32, AA: off, Aniso: 4x, Details: V.High
GFX = 9,270
CPU = 8,749
total= 60,602
18,243,206 tps
60.60 fps
Temp check after test: 67c
It dropped back down to 62c in a matter of seconds.

Thats still really wierd... I wouldn't trust those temps one bit. WIth temperatures that high, I doubt the CPU would make it through that test. Nice scores too!

The temp is wierd, but I can't locate a root cause.

I did on the last page doofus.
Here's a re-test of the original:

I think the sensor on the MB must be bjorked. I can't think of anything else.
After being turned off all night, right after I boot it says 61c in BIOS.
61 degrees Celsius = 141.8 degrees Fahrenheit. Unpossible.
After running these tests (4 in a row), the GPU reads about 55c, thats about right. The CPU shouldn't be all that different.

my cpu at 3.3 liek it is ow rearley got over 30 some and P4's are much hotter then AMD 64's

No its not borked.
A common problem when flashing bios is "stuck bits" It happens to me when I flash all the time, last time I hit 122C. Niegh Impossible. Clear your CMOS. Then start up and reboot. Should fix the problem.
Also, ill mark this sucker as soon as my main drive is functioning again.

My first un-tweaked 3D03 try. Hoping to kick up to 14+ when finished with my next set of mods and oc'ing tests.

Heh, I have an ATI card :p its just not an x800 :(
I'm thinkin about pickin up an x800 PRO VIVO and flashing it to an x800 XT. That is, whenever I get around to making enough money. A RAID 1 dual WD Raptor setup is on my wishlist as well.
So much I want, so little money for it all :mad:
