It depends where it goes....if its going on the primary or secondary colors, if primary, then the badge should be secondary colors, and vice versa.

If not, your empire's will be blending wif your suit.

don't have much artisic skills but i see the letters PSUMA in the psu font. and then a Red Purple, blue back ground(similar to frags but with not brown stripe)

big ol' black patch goes over the normal armor's shoulder pad, makes 'em really stand out.

I looked at intermingling the empires colors. Ie. purple at one end, teal at the other, yellow on the left, blue on the right, red and black in the center (after all, all the empires did come out of TR :p) but that just looked like a friggen homo rainbow.



Oh, and I am by no means an artist, and spent about 30 seconds combined creating, and uploading both of these lol.

i think they should be Blue Red and Purple (or green, if the VS are feeling a bit insecure, though purple would look better with the blue and red.) and just very simple with perhaps a few stars or something. i'm going to shut up now and just design one and see what everyone thinks..

edit2- thought of putting gold in the middle to symbolize a waypoint, as in our gathering in Orlando Florida, but I was afraid that somebody would think that I was trying to insert the NC's secondary colors and not the other empires. IN CONCLUSION, I like this last one the most. It symbolizes all 3 empires, meeting at the waypoint in the center of the ribbon.

note: for each years PSUMA, simply go through a greyscale with the white stripes. So next years would have light grey surrounding the yellow in the middle. Thats all I can come up with for that. Or possibly changing the order of the empire colors for each PSUMx ?

the other thing to keep in mind is that, as spork pointed out to me, if you don't want your colors to blur together (or unless they're highly contrasting) they should be in bars of two.
at greater than one meter, that ribbon's gonna look like purple with a yellow spot in the middle.

keep in mind that, properly executed, assymetrical can look good. marines combat action ribbon:

If any of you could figure out how to accomplish that (without it looking like total shit) I'd be behind it 100%

mine are all 40x4, but they do need to be 10x1 when i submit, and they'll have to use the colors from that palette... which, unfortunately, is heavily artifacted. it'll be sort of guesswork between spork and i for the colors.

eh, now the red is bigger than the 2 other colors. Still don't like. And is that using 10 stripes? remember it HAS to be in a 10 x 1 format, or any multiple of that format for display purposes. My suggestion, open Paint, make a 50 pixel width, 5 pixel height canvas, set the zoom level to 800%, and put it together using 5x5 squares.

eh, Martyrs merit ribbon is growing on me, it doesn't have the empire colors but it does remind me of a waypoint, which is definately symbolic of our gathering. The white tips make it stand out against the shoulderpad, and the black bars around the yellow give the yellow some good contrast. I'm going to go ahead and say it has my vote.

to clarify, i believe spork has an award ceremony in mind - that is, attendees (all empires) will gather at one location in-game on their server - i suggested desolation, since it's bright (good pictures) and nearly equally-linked for all.

spork will be there, and hopefully t-ray, criticalmass and fisa - and they'll activate our merits, which have already been pushed into the system.

A bumpity bump to this thread and a sneak peek at the ribbon from the test server where a dev friend hooked me up. Sorry, I had to black out the one ribbon that isn't allowed to be shown yet. This means the PSUMA ribbon is in the current build on test, and should come out when it goes live. (Oct 18th or before most likely.) As you can also see, the ribbons will also be available on your infil suit (and yes, do cloak properly).
