Punisher or Empire Rifle?

With the Medium Assualt weapon cert you will have the option to use either the Punisher or your empire specific weapon (Pulsar,Cycler, and Gauss).

Which do you see yourself using more often. Why?

As a wanna-be medic, I will most likely go with my empire rifle (Gauss) to save inventory space (under-barrel ammo vs medical applicator canisters).

I'm going Vanu, so I'll use my empire-specific rifle just on the merit that it uses the same kind of ammo as any other weapon I may decide to carry and doesn't switch clips to fire normal or AP rounds. Besides, the punisher is mad ugly.

Punisher is a multirole weapon so it is better for Agile/Standard which have only one rifle slot. The empire rifles are better for Reinforced since the extra slot can be used for a secondary weapon like a rocket launcher.

Im going to be NC, and Im going to go Gauss for the extreme damage and decently fast fire rate it has. I feel its worth sacrificing the Anti-Vehicular option for.

That is a good point. Of course, you have to spend extra cert points on more weapons...

Medic/Engineer - Vanu Pulsar cause I only have to have one type of ammo.

Plain Soldier (if I'm not in MAX) - Punisher for the grenade launcher. Or might try a Pulsar & Thumper combo.

If you are going for an infantryman, you should go hardcore and stick with weapons/abilities. Specialization makes for a better infantryman (Who should always do medic/engineering/hacking plus a variety of armor and weapon certs), stealther, MAXer, or vehicle driver/pilot.

I say Gauss. I like the longer range and higher damage it does compared to the punisher.

If I am in Agile armor and can only carry one weapon, it is still the gauss. If there are MAXs and tanks around, then I want my vehicle support and soldiers with Anti-vehicle weapons to take care of them. I should concentrate on killing infantry. The empire specific rifles should be better at killing infantry than the punisher.

If I am in reinforced armor then one of my weapons should be anti-vehicle.

I'll probably use the Gauss because of the better use of ammo it has over the Punisher. But it depends on what mission I'm going on and what assignment I have to determin what to use.

in a group, punisher... between 4 or so people the rockets could take vehicles out and the combined punch of the rifle could handel infantry... but only if theres group work.

in a chaotic charge, gauss all the way if no jackhammer is available.... course if i had my way there'd be one in one hand and one in the other

No you dont,if you have never driven a car before and you hop in a hummer you will casue an accident same with the lamborghini
and you might find once you drive em that you preffer teh bug or the f150. ive driven a lot of cars,from viper,hummer to old an old civic,but the best car ive ever driven was my 1978 cadilac fleetwood. so you dont know untill you have tried it,you can speculate all day but you still dont know untill you try it :D

I agree. Though I have to say, the Gauss with an magnification implant will be a swiss army knife for me. It is the main reason I am picking the NC. High rate of fire, means low accuracy, means I'll miss more. High damage and short controlled bursts mean sooner death. Thus, Gauss.

alright, point taken. *thinks ill go out to the car lot and drive a hummer over the weekend, then ill know that i like it ;) *

But you can still know what the guns are supposed to do, and what they are going to be used for. Thus if you like shotguns in games, you will probably like the jackhammer, etc

You can decide what you think you will like without trying it. Once the game comes out im sure many people will change their minds, but many will still probably still like what they like now. If they are long range, they like long range, if they like chainguns, they will prob still like the chain gun, etc...

I'm gonna use the Gauss. A very famous weapon. In SC it is used by Terran Marines, the core unit of a Terran's army. In BT/Neveron it is (IMHO) the best weapon in the game. It can blow off your mechs head in one shot, but it doesn't even make any heat. Every shot costs you 1 million dollars though. :/ Expensive ammo. I'm guessing the one weakness of the Gauss will be a small clip that empties quickly. Carry around a lot of it's ammo.

No clue, the punisher looks like a damn good weapon, it can do a ton load of stuff! :)

Most of the screenshots and video footage show people using Punishers, if that's any indication.

I defintely think I would rather use the Cycler than the Punisher. The extra zoom added to the Cycler will make it better in those medium to long range fights.

the lasher sends out an orb of energy. a direct hit does some good damage. it works against both vehicles and units.

I am TR, and i wanna be a reaver pilot who gets out on a hilltop takes out is bolt-driver and shoots people, so the rifle of my choice would be the punisher so if i see a tank i get my punisher out of the trunk and shoot at the tank or infantry. this would be good because it has 2 types of guns: rockets, and bullets so its good to use than wasting my bolt-driver bullets on close infantry.:ncsucks: :vssucks: >>>:trrocks:<<<

quick question,since we all talking bout guns and stuff the MAX has 3 different types,infantry,vehicle,and air,any way to be all if u have all certs or can u only carry one of those weapons on at a time?
